In T yesterday they were giving a free bag for life to every customer...but only if you went through a manned till...I really only tend to use self scan or scan as you go....but I've also got quite a few good quality shopping bags that I have been using for a few years anyway so I'm not fazed by taking my own.

Actually what I will miss the humble plastic carrier for is as a bin liner...but I'm wondering if the charity bags that get put through the door might get used instead....

I've always resisted using them as pedal bin liners as they are rather large....hence the reason I now have a kitchen drawer full...

I do find them handy for when the boys go camping to pop a few in their bags for wet clothes....and I have been known to use them as intended and take old clothes to our local charity shops...but I dont donate and leave the bags on the doorstep for collection as I have seen them being taken by others rather than the charity.

some changes to morries match and more

Since launching Morrisons Match & More, we have been listening to what our customers think about the scheme. As a result:

From 2nd November, it will be even simpler to earn points through the following changes:
    • Earn 5 Morrisons points for every £1 you spend* - you will no longer have to spend a minimum of £15 in one transaction
    • We're also extending the locations where points can be earned to include Flower Shop, Garden Centres and Pharmacies
    • Morrisons Match points on comparable shopping will end

    You will continue to:

    • Earn 10 points per litre every time you buy fuel
    • Earn hundreds of points on promotions available in store and at Morrisons.com

I have quite a stash of these, very good for when we're having a clear out. And I refuse to call them charity bags, the vast majority of them are from limited companies that give a percentage to the charity. Read the bags, I was disgusted that they use the charity name when they give them so little.

    Good morning all :)

I see the carrier bag charge is being talked about its been policy in wales for ages.

Don't forget your carrier bag when you go to the drive through restaurant for burger or chicken as they charge for the paper bags :(

How the hell they expect to serve your order without a bag is beyond me what a con
That's just stupid, paper bags break down easily or can be recycled.

The chips have to be put in a bag at no charge and the burger is given to you in a box hence the bag is not essential
And the burger boxes don't spill open easily do they... Yet they will give you a bag in a supermarket if you buy a sealed chicken or the like!

When I bought my O2 £1 lunch in Boots today, the person in front of me bought a carrier bag for 5p. It was quite a sturdy looking thing, not like the thin ones they were using, and she was told that when it wears out she could bring it back for a replacement.
