Thursday night is training night.
Tonight was "stop the dog." This involves either calling the dog to you or someone calling the dog away from you, then you making him do an emergency stop half way.
Someone calling Gitdog away is never going to work because he's so happy and enthusiastic when he thinks he's got a friend, there's no way he's going to stop when there's a potential fuss on offer.
So we try it with me calling him. Only he's not one of those "anything to please my owner" dogs, he's an independent thinker. (OK, thinker implies a degree of cognitive ability that isn't always in evidence, but you get the gist.)
So the Gitdog version? That'll be firmly staying put while I leap around like a lunatic trying to prompt some forward movement, on the grounds that what's the point of legging it towards me when I'm only going to stop him in his tracks? Might as well cut out the middle man and save us all the bother. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Hahahaha! I like Gitdog's thinking, elsien! Who wants to leave a new friend anyway when there is fuss to be had?Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

So today didn't start well.....i chacked my bank account and low and behold..no holiday pay. Rang work and my manager said it wwas down as holiday, she looked into it and apparently i'd used up all my holiday entitlement! One when my manager put the holiday in, it clearly said i had 5 days left (since found out this was never updated) and seco0ndly all the days off i requested, that i was told would be your normal days off actually, you were onyl allowed 7 of those per year and anything more come out of your holiday entitlement, nobody ever told me this, and i asked 2 managers at the time. So feeling incredibly stressed and !!!!ed off that i;ve basically had a week off and not been paid. I explained to my manager the situation its put me in, i'm going to have to borrow off Swain to cover my rent and i literally have zero money till next thursday
She apologised and has complained to the area manager on my behalf, and she said whilst she's on with me if i need food or drinks ust ask her and she'll sort it. She also said she'd try and up my hours and gave me an extra shift next week so at least i can try and play catch up.
I'm just so angry at the computer system, why it can't update weekly or tell you theres no holiday when you put it in i don't know. Hopefully it gets sorted and this doesn't happen to someone else :mad:This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

i was in a state of shock for most of the morning, i mean just like that i'm over £100 short for the week
and not great as like an idiot i took out my budget at the start of the week and have naff all left atm. I feel bad that Swain has to bail me out especially when i was trying so hard to sort money stuff, but he's said its no bother and that i need to try and relax and we'll sort it.
Hopefully if i can pick up some extra hours it might even itself out by the end of the month. Going forward my manager agreed to put a new day off request system in place so everyone knows exactly how much holiday/days off they have used, so hopefully e can avoid it happening to anyone else. And bless her she bought me a sandwich and a sausage roll so i didn;t go without todayThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. And yet again, a reminder of what a darling your Swain is.
MU, rather than Swain bailing you out, could you ask if work could pay some of your wages in advance?:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0
