Torry, it lovely and wonderful that its helping that person :) We all have things which help us in different ways and if they have found help in the church then thats a great thing :)

Thanks for that. I know it isn't for all though.

Sorry to hear your legs are aching, hope you soon feel stronger.

  • Aw, that is lovely to hear, Torry!

I am not too bad right now, MU! It is coming in waves, sudden hair standing on end panic, not feeling real and confusion. Then in it drifts away again. Really, it's pretty standard for me when my chemicals mess up so it should hopefully get better soon. I am living off anti-psychotics 3 times a day so that should stop things getting any worse at least.

I was at work all day yesterday and didn't get back until evening.

This morning we went out to a fundraising event for an animal charity. It was brilliant - bouncy castles, biscuit decorating, cake and craft stalls and the like. We bought treats for other family members and took along 1 set of grandparents. Littlewing had the best time.

Went to see the other set of family this afternoon to give them their cakes and biscuits. I fell asleep as soon as I sat down. Littlewing had a great time.

Then we came home and she has been re-enacting her day with her toys. I had to stop her bouncing on the armchair - apparently it was the bouncy castle. She is completely zonked out now.

I am on day 14 of the never-ending period (!) and in the past week (since the bereavement) have been getting hives on my hands and feet sometimes. I have tried googling but there isn't too much that may cover my set of circumstances.

Mentally I feel okay, just a little overwhelmed occasionally.
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

I hope the meds kick in and keep it under control for you hun

Just remember this is a chemical blip, it sucks that its happening but it will pass as it has done before. You've just got to ride it out and we will be here supporting you 100% (during and after)

  • Hives definitely can be stress related. I started coming out in them really badly all over my body. Mainly on my legs, but also on my torso arms and face. The photos I took to show the doctor (because they only seemed to come out at night) were horrendous! They put me on gradually stronger and stronger antihistamines, and then one day they just stopped altogether. They first started a couple of months before my Dad died and went on for a few months.

Sounds like you've all had a brilliant day WW :)
  • WAS I've just read your penguin . I spoke a while ago about the cruelty of these forms and how heartbreaking they can be both for the claiment and those that love them and have to watch them strip their lives bare . What these forms do not show are the loving heartwarming and positive sides of people and the good they do . Please do not let yourself be made to torment yourself and suffer more . Look at the number of thanks you have on these threads and think of the changes you have made in both your life and many others by providing this safe haven . Chin up sweetheart . You are much loved by your golden lights , Wasp and Millefleur plus your teacher friend and american friend .
    Love polly x

Polly, this post is lovely, and very wise xxxx

WaS, they are right. You are not just a collection of symptoms. Perhaps it would help to fill out out another mock 'form' asking you about the lovely side?

    1) do you like people?
    2) do you feel empathy towards people who are ill/unhappy/feel stressed/have problems in their lives?
    3) do you like animals?
    4) do you like to cuddle soft toys?
5)do you have a sense of humour?
    6) can you laugh at yourself?
    7) do you know when you are saying /doing 'strange' things?
    8) can you analyse your behaviour and rationalise it?
    9) do you love your partner?
    10) do you love your friends?
11)do you have a sloth in your pocket?

(I love this as well  - and Pyxis, it is so kind of you to post all the way from SL xxx)
Well done on the form! Don’t forget, WaS, you are going to send your form off with some medical supporting documents (I’m sure you will have some letters from your consultants and bubbly bullozers which endorse what you are saying) so the DWP assessors won’t be able to laugh at you (or whatever your fears are about how your forms will be treated) because they will have evidence from people who know what they are talking about! (Or rather, from people who THEY BELIEVE know what they are talking about – cos we all know that you know what you are talking about, as well :D)

Penguin about terminal illness DH and I took my parents up to see my aunt and the difference is horrifying. Last Sunday she was able to hold a conversation for a short time and was munching a bacon roll. Today she couldn't talk much, slept 90% of the time and can't even hold her cup or change position. I am utterly useless in the face of this. I just have no idea what to do if i don't have something practical to do. The only thing I did was tell her hair looks nice and went to the cafe to get her a drink because she didn't like the juice in her room. I do not ever want to die that way. end penguin.

My birthday is coming up and I don't want to deal with it. Nothing to do with ageing, and everything to do with the reminder that very few people give a toss. I'll get a few messages on the facebook and that's about it. I'm not expecting anything from my parents as they have other stuff going on. My birthday is at a bad time of year when everyone is busy with Valentines or poor so it's always been a disappointment

  • code, I have a friend who is busy dying at the moment as well (not your fault WaS!) How she functions is much more due to how much morphine she has in her system at the time than how she really is, so don't assume your aunt has necessarily deteriorated that much - she might be quite lucid and able to move around (even if just in the bed) at other times xxxx It is hard, though, isn't it. xxxx

Have a wonderful birthday, and celebrate your life!!! Challenge - how about treating a bit like our weigh-ins and posting 5 challenges for yourself over the next year? xxx
