Love hearing about your adventures Pyxis! How long are you there for again?

I'm here for another week! Yum!
We did lots of singing today, including in the restaurant where we had lunch! They videoed us! :rotfl:
Then we visited a gem factory....Sri Lanka is famous for blue sapphires, so we saw lots of lovely ones, but all far too expensive!

Saw an eagle twice, and another family of toque monkeys.

Then I had an hour's reflexology session in the hotel's spa, which was great as it includes a lower leg massage.....my legs have been swelling in the humid heat and were very uncomfortable, but the session helped a lot.
We're off to another hotel tomorrow, higher in the hills. It looks like it was plucked straight out of Surrey! It's an ex-colonial place!

There are loads of dogs here roaming about, but hardly any cats. I have only seen three cats, but dozens of dogs. Apparently they adopt a house to which they return at night and guard it in return for scraps, then during the day they're off roaming!

Must do photos must do photos!

    I love

Torry it must be incredibly difficult living with an illness there is no treatment for :( that said, despite the fact you must have days where you strugge you always seem so kind and pleasant on the forum (i beleive i may have disagreed with you on some points in the past but you've always been polite about it), so even when its getting you down, you're still being positive (which i could learn a lot from).

I'm lucky that for me there is medication that keeps most of the symptoms at bay, but they don't always work, and for some reason nobody seems to take the physical side of symptoms seriously. Currently i feel tired all the time, which is possibly a side effect of one of my meds but i've expereienced it with the depressive symptoms too. A lot of my friends still go out and party and all i want to do is crawl under my duvet and sleep. There's are full days that get "wasted" because i have no energy and no motivation to do anything. :o

  • Aw, well I hope you have a lovely time if you do go tigger.

I love the dog story, Pyxis! I like the idea of a dog choosing which house to guard! I can't wait for the photo's!

Love how the dogs choose a house to guard in return for scraps! :)

I'm not one for massages, purely cause I don't like laying still for too long and am a fidget, but I think I would enjoy a leg massage as I can see that helping a lot of you're on your feet a lot especially.

My Mam's engagement ring is a sapphire and it's gorgeous! Noticed the other day that my Auntys is too. It's a lovely stone. I like them and Aquamarine stones too.

Looking forward to seeing this beautiful country from your photos. :)
  • What is this section on the ESA form that says tell us how each condition affects you?! This is as well as many individual questions asking about communication, movement, cognitive ability, etc. I have 15 diagnoses! Argh! Amusingly they have a very small box to write it all in, this is going to take many added pages. Needless to say I put the form down and ran away. Perhaps I can manage one diagnosis a day.

Was shucks. I do try to be polite even when I disagree, there is no point in being rude.

Staying under the duvet sounds good, the weather isn't looking good for tomorrow - snow.

Alas i'm back at work tomorrow, but snow might not be terrible as it would mean work may be quieter! :)

I have to admit apart from nipping to the shop, today has been a duvet day :o

WAS I've just looked at the copy we printed of the esa form my daughter completed in oct 2015 .
In addition to completing the form she typed and printed a number of pages naming each diagnosis date of diagnosis and detailed in turn how each impacted on her life .
Our gp supplied a list of her diagnoses and a full up to date list of her many meds .
As I said in an earlier post she was not required to be interviewed and her award was renewed on medical evidence .
I hope this is of help . It was an exhausting process but worth it .
If you don't already make two copies of all you send . I have paperwork going back decades which has proved useful a number of times .
You'll get there sweetheart . Although it's not over until you get your reply there is massive relief getting the darn thing out of the house and on it's way .

There but for fortune go you and I.
  • Melly – so pleased about your interview being rescheduled. And with any luck it may cut down the pool of applicants. Fingers crossed. And another vote here for reporting your neighbour. And can you report the car blocking people ATM for obstruction?

Charlie – what a great GP! Sounds like exactly what you need, and here’s hoping your counselling referral comes through really soon and that you GET SOME SLEEP! :D

WaS – here’s an offer. I will fill out your DWP form for you, if you like. Even though you are so articulate, I think it might help you to have someone who can prompt you about how bad things get (for Wugmumps and Sloths, obviously – and I can’t remember the actual clever name that ?elsien came up with). And it can only help that I will then get to fill out the box that says that the reason someone has completed the form for you is that you have shooting pains….. (Good idea to do it on the computer as well, though!)

The way I approached Vox’s form was to describe all his conditions in a long response to one of the very early questions, and then in response to the questions about what you can do, say things like ‘my conditions mean that….’

Tigger – very interested to hear the Dutch are direct! I have a friend who is half Dutch – I’ll have to look out for it!

Torry = get someone to make you a lemon drizzle cake in return for sharing my secret cheat on cakemaking (you put the butter in the microwave for 40 secs to make it far, far easier to blend). :) does it help you feel a bit more positive about life if you try to track down a bit of beauty each day? I find some good music or even a funny cat video really helps……

Pyxis – your posts really remind me of Sri Lanka! I went with a friend, we hired a driver and went everywhere! When we stayed at one of the places near a national park, there was a wedding in the hotel and we were the only two people there who weren’t in the wedding party, so of course we were invited :D I kept in touch with the bride for ages – very touchingly she said I was like her sister because I had been to her wedding :)

    Squishes to all!
