Hahahahaha! Understandable! Hopefully they might call today or tomorrow, I'd be going mad myself waiting for news in your shoes.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Right hbs. *puts Sgt Major uniform on*. You are not you are not old, fat or stupid! What you are is under attack from the stressy thoughts. Being made redundant sucks, and that chips away at your self-esteem, which is further eroded by not getting jobs and that swells and grows into a worry that your OH doesn't want you either because all these negative thoughts need somewhere to go. I can tell you that there is a lot of competition for jobs to the point where each job can have hundreds of people applying. I can tell you that half the jobs have already been promised to someone within the company but they have to interview, because, rules. I suspect this won't help. Just...don't give up. You will find another job because you're awesome. If you were useless your cheerios wouldn't be doing well in competition and I bet they all think you're awesome.
As for the other thing, Mr CP is less than interested in that. I see these things about men wanting it all the time, and it batters my self-esteem because he wants it maybe once a month. When we were TTC, and I tried everything from demanding it, to sexy lingerie and nothing worked, once we got going and he was looking over my shoulder watching football! He just doesn't have a great sex drive and no matter how much I remind myself that it's just the way he is, and it's nothing to do with me, I can't help thinking, maybe if I were thinner or prettier or sexier or better somehow, he'd be more interested. I used to lock myself in the bathroom and cry. These days I just sort it out myself if he's not in the mood and try not to let it bother me.
Poo transplant?

HBS - I can sympathise so much with your TMI problem.
Apologies in advance for TMI of my own...
My OH is on heart medication which seriously lowers his libido and can also cause some, erm, performance issues.
Unless you ask him if there's a problem he probably won't even realise it's something which is upsetting you. Even though my OH knows how much it bothers me, that it makes me feel unwanted and unattractive and we're supposed to be trying for a baby at the moment, he couldn't work out why I burst into tears the other week when, yet again, he wasn't 'in the mood'...0 -
Hi all. Not had time to catch up with thread properly, so apologies if I barge in inappropriately.
Phew! Another long day. Was still a bit jetlagged this morning, as I still didn't want to get up, even at 7.30 am! Very unlike me!
We did two hours singing this morning, then went for a bike/tuctuc ride through countryside. I plumped for the tuctuc, as I find bikes very uncomfortable. Mind you, there were so many potholes that the tuctuc probably wasn't much better! It was interesting seeing rice in the fields, and tobacco plants. Seen lizards and chipmunks, and monkeys! And those cattle with the hump on the back! Huge butterflies and weird birds.
Then after lunch was the Sigirya rock fortress. Except that I decided I would be foolish to attempt 1100 steps in the very hot, humid climate. I don't think my iffy knee would have coped and it might have ruined me for a couple of days. So I asked our guide about elephants and he kindly organised a ride for 6 of us. So I have ridden on an elephant!
It was hilarious. First we fed the elephant sweetcorns, (one was able to hold three at once in its trunk!) then we got on via a wooden staircase and platform. It wasn't comfortable and I was holding on for dear life as my legs were dangling over the side! Great fun though! Had such a laugh! The mahmout taught us a Sinhalese song as we lurched along! Hope it wasn't rude! The elephant, named Banda, went through water at one point and the mahmout asked if we'd like to be sprayed! We declined!
Then we said goodbye to Banda and gave her a pat! But tomorrow after singing we're doing an elephant Safari! To see wild elephants! Hit and miss, obviously, but I hope we see some baby ones too.
I haven't sorted the photos yet, but will try to tomorrow.
I'm in bed (it's 22.30) with the TV on a Sri Lankan channel. Don't know why! It's strange, 'cos it's all incomprehensible except that occasionally there's a random sentence in English interspersed amongst the Sinhalese! Not just the odd word, but whole senetencea like " be a good girl!" Very funny!
Addendum.....it's taken me at least half an hour to post this......the internet connection is dreadful tonight, so am giving up!
Night night!(I just lurve spiders!)

One of Tomcats girlfriends has just been round.
She didn't realise that a porky white creature bouncing on the end of a lead means I love you let's play.
I know cats are solitary but never had so many casually mooching outside since tomcat came here.
He sees most of them off as he isn't sharing the treat sticks, dreamies, choice of flavour food, brushes cuddled and 14 cat toys ta.0 -

To all you ladies whose gentlemen are coming on less than you'd like - try giving them a course of zinc tablets. If you just call them vitamins & say something about boosting their immune system in the winter, they may well co-operate. But you'll probably have to hand them over each day with the coffee or whatever. It takes a couple of weeks or so to kick in. At the very least you will be benefitting their health! And you'll probably feel the benefits too.

Can't work out if a scary thing just happened or if I've lost the plot.
Went for a walk (weigh in tomorrow!). Had been out about 25mins and was coming back down the road parallel to mine. I swear I saw FOH. He was on the other side of the road walking towards me so I carried on walking and didn't look over. Got to end of road and looked back and he'd turned round and was going in same direction as me. Looked back at next corner (was basically walking around a square block) and he was still there.
Always on the other side of the road, no attempt at contact, and far enough away that there's no way I could be certain.
Got to the end of my road and he walked the other way. I looked back when I was halfway to my house and he'd stopped (but some distance away by that point).
I didn't see his car or van at any point.
I hate that I have no way of knowing if I'm being paranoid. It's not like I can call the police and report a passerby for having the same work trousers, hat and silhouette as my ex!0 -
I'd still report it tea. It's getting really creepy now, well it already was, but even more so now.
I don't know about you, but I just wouldn't feel safe, and that is no way to live.
You might think it's nothing much, and that the police will wonder why on earth you're reporting such a thing, but they won't, I think they'll be very interested to hear this latest bit of information.
Hope you get an update soon, they must have some information by now surely?0 -
Glad you got some comfort from going to see your Aunt code.
Hugs (((((HBS))))) You don't need apologise. Everyone's problems and worries are totally valid.
Glad you managed to get some money Melly. I know it's not the full amount, but at least it's a start.Tomcat is so cute!
Sounds like you're having a fantastic time Pyxis! I'm so jealous you got to go on an elephant! My Dad always told me stories of his time there, and so I'm loving reading your updates and look forward to the photos!0
