  • I used to love autumn and winter. All snuggled up in big jumpers and scarves etc. I could never understand how people didn't like it and prefered summer instead. Now I get it. I prefer the warm sunny days, and just find winter really grim and depressing. :( Especially this year with the first anniversary coming up at the end of December. Christmas will never be the same again, and I'm dreading it. :(

I still do love Autumn though, as I love Halloween! :D

Congrats moo. As soon as you have your NVQ, I think you can progress to grad status, but do it asap, as I think you have to be grad for 2 yrs before they will consider CIMOSH. I don't mind the ruling as I suppose it weeds out those without the right experience, but I think they should have a way of processing people who have worked in the industry for years and clearly have the knowledge and experience, but have not been registered. The absolute best dude I knew was not even an iosh member as his company were tight and would not pay for it and he had such a low salary he could not afford it either, but he was the most knowledgable advisor and had such a way of getting people to do things. He loved his work and didn;t want to change jobs, but he would have liked the opportunity to participate and I think the community were at a big loss not having him vocalise his ways of working as they were amazingly effective. Red tape eh?

The hse director were I work (who's the one who tempted me in) is going to sponsor me for the IOS training and IOSH he's really good that is why I took a step back.
Getting used to taking orders is difficult but they seem to have grasped if you leave me to it I get more done.

Although I do like the light mornings and evenings, summer is a bit like New Year's Eve to me. There's such a high expectation that it almost never lives up to. I like September-December because by the time you get to December the dark nights are compensated for by Christmas lights. I hate January-March when you're fed up with the cold and dark and there is only a long wait for summer to look forward to.

I get why it will be difficult for you Georgie. Must be tough but it will get easier in time. Due to some family politics (aka my sister being a massive douche) the usual Christmas routine is messed up, my parents will be upset and there is a huge chance it will just be me, DH and DA dog and perhaps Chinese food. My inner hermit likes this idea but I don't think DH wants to do that.

The back to work blues have set in on a massive scale. I want to cry.

Autumn is my favourite time of year, mainly because it rains a lot and its cool. Summer is the worse time of year for me because it makes my headaches much worse and I permanently hot anyway due to my messed up thyroid so in summer I just sit inside and melt!

I can understand why this time of year is now hard for you Georgie, we will all be here for you. Hugs.

I am glad that you feel a bit better Kitty. I remember six months after my cat died just sitting and sobbing her thinking that I would do anything to have her back with me. I still feel sad at times but I remember the good memories more now. I know how much it hurts. Oh, and I read PostSecret too. I tend to read it in batches because at times it can really upset me, some of the secrets are so sad. I saw the one that upset you.

How is Italy, Pyxis? I hope that you are having a lovely time!

In amusing and slightly painful news earlier I slathered the super strong anti-spot cream I get from my GP all over my face. My face looks burnt! It is all bright red, cracking and flaky and the skin is peeling off! At least the spots don't show up so much?

WELLY!!!!!!! Congratulations! WOOOOOOHOOOOOO!! I am so excited for you! I hope you and your little family are doing well and can't wait to hear more! Try to get as much as rest as you can and tell the escapee WaS says Welcome to the World! :j:T
