Yes tea, hurry up. Don't worry if he turns you down as I have thought of a name for your next conquest. (If I can remember it by then).
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

Although I did have a serious word with myself last night and decided that if it's the lack of control doing my head in then I can do something about that. If I want/need anything else in life (a mortgage, a job, a coffee, a diamond bracelet) then I'll sort it myself. So why on earth do I behave so differently when it's a date I want?? If I want to see someone I can a) send "ask me out" vibes out to the universe and drive myself crazy trying to will them into contacting me, or b) ask them if they fancy a coffee and find out where I stand. Seems really obvious now :rotfl:.
It's so different because (b) is hard. For me, anyway. It's way, way easier to commit to borrowing a vast sum of money to be repaid over 25 years to buy a house than to ask a woman if she wants to meet for tea (don't drink coffee :p ).

IAs for the dating thing, I think we all have that impulsive over analyising thing when dating that turns you back into that teenager with a crush.

In this respect I still am a teenager :o , albeit not crushing on anyone at present.

Please continue with the online dating stories, all helps me convince myself that I should try it!

Ono, I can only apologise if my behaviour over the last week has put you off women for life! I can assure you that most of them are lovely and won't go completely off the rails after one date :rotfl:.

I think I saw MU on another thread in the last day or so (now I sound like a total stalker!) *waves* hope you're doing ok poppet x.

ww - I am now tempted to find someone else for a date just so I can find out the name! :D

Pxyis - don't encourage me! You lot are supposed to be my voice of reason! :rotfl:.

Do you know, Ono, it really helps to get a guy's eye view of all these conundrums!
So,tell us, would going for coffee/tea be better than going to a common interest? Eg, an exhibition just opened, a zoo, a talk on something?
So, Tea, what common interests do you and conquest have?

Ono, if tea texts Mr Hotlips, will you join POF? (A double challenge!)

  • I saw MU on that 'Return to this thread in December 2016'. Hope you're ok MU?

Glad DA dog is ok. If he's anything like monkey cat, just the mere mention of the V.E.T.S seems to perk him up! :rotfl: He hates the vets, and I mean hates it!

You're right tea, he's probably looking at his phone wondering why you haven't texted him back. Do it!! Then at least you'll know where you stand with him. I don't know why, but I always think meeting in a coffee shop would be awkward for some reason. I don't feel it would be as relaxing as meeting in a pub, or meeting at the cinema or bowling.

A trip to Denmark you say Pyxis? Something I've never thought of, but hey I'm up for anything! (Almost anything!)

    Ono, go for it!! :D

It would be extremely unwise to regard me as typical of how men in general approach dating!

I'd prefer to go for tea/coffee or to a pub simply for the opportunity to talk in a situation where either person could leave at any time, going to something like a talk or a film you can't talk to each other so much and you're pretty much stuck there, same with dinner.

I'd love to go to Denmark. A friend of mine has a Danish mother and some family still over there and it always sounds lovely.
