Morning all! Happy New Year! I don't think I've posted since last year... :o Big hugs for all who had rubbish nights and/or feeling poorly. I had some weird dreams, but slept OK thank goodness, I don't want to start a stretch of proper full time work with no days off until the next Bank Holiday on a back foot!

WaS, you definitely contribute to society, even our little society in here would be nothing without you! And think about all the years that you did work and what a difference you made. Can WaSp do the majority of the form filling for you so you don't have to focus too much on it?

I like Faerie's description of you being our lighthouse :)

I'm not quite ready for Christmas to be over and for it to be 2016 either... I just about got used to saying 2015! Half of our decorations came down on Boxing Day as OH got bored and started clearing away the 'clutter' (artfully arranged festive decor ;)) but we still have the tree up. Mainly because we CBA to take it down and it's a real one so there's the usual issue of what the freak do we do with it?!

Tea, firstly, I'm glad that you logged FOH's latest stunt with the police. He needs to know that he can't get away with behaviour like this and trying to find loopholes to get to you. Secondly, do you think some sessions with a counsellor would help you go over what you've been through and 're-set' your mindset for finding someone new? I had an old friend who had 6 or so sessions with a life coach type person when she left uni and was panicking about the change to life and again a few years later when switching jobs and struggling with life in general and she said it really helped. Might be worth checking out?

Oh and I'm in a FB group with several of LTTTCers from my time as we were all stupidly lucky to have our babies within about 6 months and count our blessings most days, and they have asked me to send their love to you two (Tea and Code that is!) - Becca, TeamLowe, BigZippy, Claire, Purcy, Abis, Amyloofoo, Time2Deal are girls who you'll know off the top of my head? Anyway, just so you know that there's a little pocket of t'interwebs rooting for you girls (and QQuaver, do you know how she's doing?). :kisses3:
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

  • Whitewing - you might want to consider taking little one to a cranial osteopath with a paediatric qualification.
If you google it, you will find many parents singing praises, though of course some people still don't feel there has been enough scientific research. Even though "the plural of anecdote is anecdotes, not data" there are an awful lot of anecdotes out there! Including mine, I was so impressed with the effect a good, qualified, experienced cranial osteopath had on my son I took the other one along too and they were both helped enormously. I wish I had known about it much sooner.
Deal with things as they are, not as they should be.
  • Just popping in to replenish the fort, visit the squish cupboard and give extra squishes/hugs to the poorlies. Backs in particular are horrid! Must do some work, now..........

Thanks for that Birdie *waves back at all the internet peeps and their little ones * :)

Counselling might be a really good idea. I know that half the things I think are ridiculous - is that a good start?! It's like there's a rational part of my brain looking in despair at the rest of me stressing over contact from someone I've met once :rotfl:. Unfortunately that rational part is too small and doesn't get a look in once the crazy part of me takes over!

Although I did have a serious word with myself last night and decided that if it's the lack of control doing my head in then I can do something about that. If I want/need anything else in life (a mortgage, a job, a coffee, a diamond bracelet) then I'll sort it myself. So why on earth do I behave so differently when it's a date I want?? If I want to see someone I can a) send "ask me out" vibes out to the universe and drive myself crazy trying to will them into contacting me, or b) ask them if they fancy a coffee and find out where I stand. Seems really obvious now :rotfl:.
  • Both elbows at once, snowboarding. It made going to the toilet etc very difficult with both arms strapped up!

I do keep looking at Tough Murder type things but I'd have no chance at all to train so wouldn't get very far. We should create our own fort obstical course, we can all take part then with minimal training required. I suggest we have a zip wire as part of it. I love a good zip wire. Not too high though as I don't like heights. Oh and a slide too..
    !

Wow  I can totally imagine what a challenge that presented to going to the loo!

Good idea, a touch mudder course in the fort, complete with zip wire, I'd be up for that! :D

Glad Escapette had a good night :)

Hugs (((Pyxis))) Sorry to hear you're still feeling bleugh, but good news about that woman at Am Dram though!

I slept slightly better last night. Was about 3am when I finally dropped off I think, which isn't really that good, but think I slept from then onwards.

Glad you reported the incident to the police tea. They need to be aware of everything he does.

Hope DA dogs vet visit goes ok today code :)

Hope you managed to get a doctors appointment elsien?

I watched that programme where they have cameras inside the GP's surgery (name totally slips my mind atm) and they were inserting a coil for this woman. Totally made me wince and squirm. Hope they manage to sort yours out without too much fuss WW.

I'm not back at work til midweek but I prefer late starts. I like starting my day slowly, cuddles with DA dog, walks in the daylight (all the good dog walks round here aren't well lit so an early start would mean rubbish walks for DA dog in winter). I like pottering around a bit. Plus as I use public transport, I save money with off peak fares. I'm not a morning person.

Melly - glad you have people on your team.

Tea - that is scary. Glad you reported it. I feel a bit sorry for your neighbour. Poor woman has someone doing work on her house begging her to ask his ex to get back with him. She was probably humouring him with no intention of doing it until he started being creepy about the keys. As for the dating thing, I think we all have that impulsive over analyising thing when dating that turns you back into that teenager with a crush. I hope you don't mind my internet dating stories - it's just that I did it for so long and learned a lot through it.

Don't think we need the vet. Mr CP opened the door this morning and he flew out like a bat out of hell, ran upstairs and jumped on the bed with me. He's not limping now so think we'll have a day of sedate sniffing around walks just in case.
