Well done melly, you are hugely brave. Tiny penguin. Your reasons are my reasons for ED, it took a while to explain it to professionals but when I saw someone who worked with ED regularly they understood it immediately. Physical appearance has never had anything to do with it for me, in the same way I have OCD and count things and have rituals to cling to control, I eat too little for exactly the same reasons. I either eat nothing to show myself I don't need to and I can control what I do to myself, or I force myself to binge eat to punish myself until it physically hurts and I can't breathe as a form of self-harm. Have a big hug, you did great. End tiny penguin

Fly, huge hugs. You were so brave to tell us all how you are feeling. I agree with everyone else, try to manipulate them back and be clear what you are willing to do. If that doesn't work then rethink your options. What a huge worry for you, no wonder you are feeling so low. Remember no matter what the outcome is you have really tried and that is BRAVE! Big squishes (I would say flysquish but that sounds awful).

Well done on the decluttering, Whitewing!

Even WaSp has told me never, ever to watch UP. He says I will be a mess after the first 5 minutes.

I was Harry Potter obsessed a while back, I must have watched each film at least 6 times. I may try reading the books one day.

Izadora, of course you are kind and caring. We all know that.

Good luck with the catering Calley! Most of all have fun!

How are you feeling today, Pyxis? Achy bits less Achy?

Georgie! Do we need to chisel you out of a block of ice?

Thank you for the recipe, JM! I shall be trying that yummy curry!

Our Asda order arrived 2 hours early which scared the life out of me! I ran to hide in the bathroom because it caught me unawares so I panicked as soon as door buzzer went, much to WaSp's amusement. I am attempting another sort-of Christmas Dinner tomorrow as the last went one so well.

Fly, don't ever think you're hogging the board.

    That's what it's here for.

Plus you have a major dilemma about a major decision and major doubts, so you need all the input you can get! :A

    Thanks pyxis!

I need to motivate myself to shower.
  • Fly, I am APPALLED that the Uni hasn't sorted you out a tutor! Do they have a Facebook page? Sometimes posting complaints like this in public achieves remarkably rapid results..............:p

Fly, I know nothing about that sort of work, but I agree with the others. Go with your gut. Don't feel like you have to take what could be an awful job (from what you've said) just to prove a point to yourself. You can feel as proud of yourself for standing up for yourself and refusing to be manipulated as you would if you gave it a go.
Not trying to persuade you to walk away, I just don't want you to feel bad whatever you decide.

Well done Melly. Maybe write down what you were trying to say to pass on to her. She may take more notice of a letter rather than hearing what she expects to hear.

Hubby decided to stay in with us
  • How was Escapette last night, Welly? Did you get any sleep? I am glad hubby is staying in with you, even if you are both nodding off on the sofa it's nice to have someone there.

Flysquish is fine by me - it made me laugh.
JB - yes - the university is appalling in general - the list of issues is very long and I am so disappointed. I thought I had managed to get my head round it, sort of accepting that I needed to make the most out of what I had and do my best to ignore the problems, but unsure at the minute. It just seems like I am paying thousands of pounds for online library access (albeit, very very good library access to probably anything you can think of from an academic point of view). My thought pattern was that if I could just get my head into gear, I could make the most of the library access over the time and basically teach myself what I want to know. I have to say, with my current experience of the University system, I would not encourage any young person to spend so much money on such a poor product.

She didn't sleep again, I've been up since 2am. Getting snappy and hate myself for it
