Hugs for you Georgie.
I am also cooking for the first time this year. Started off with being for 4 of us, then my mum invited my brother and his wife and while we were at the supermarket she said she'd invited my brother's son who may or may not come and my other brother. So now it's 8. 3 different types of meat, and all the trimmings
Whoops, that posted before I was ready. I also wanted to say thank you to MU for those beautiful words.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
Thank you for that lovely post, MU. This little community has helped me lots this year
One more sleep to go...well, 4 more hours at work then a bar shift for me...

Hi Welly and Fly baby,
I am really well at the moment. The happiest and contented I have been in a long while.
I have been reading. And battling on and off for a nearly a week with back/ hip pain. But a lot better now. Was a tad worried about phoebe (rabbit) as she did not want to eat her dried food but would wolf everything else down I gave her. And yesterday she started eating it.
I will post a picture of her once I can get in photobox.
I think 2016 is the year I get myself sorted out. Job and house etc wise.
My lodger is fine he can be a pain some times and broke my mouse LOL!!! Very funny one of my neighbours popped a card through the door at that said to the both of you  Did not know if I should laugh or cry :rotfl:
Tea I am sorry you are going through this. Best just to cut contact be firm but polite.
Pyxis you could have joined me and my husband for xmas lunch the more the merrier.
Welly I doubt little one can be any worse than one of my nephews who chucked a massive wobbly the other day when I said he could not open his presents until xmas day.
Everyone take care and have the xmas you want and not some fake made up one we all see on the telly where you spend time with people you really don't like.
I will pop some chocolate yule log and other little snacks in the fort for all. And maybe a couple of bottles of drink.
Yours

8 people? Wow! Good luck
Just phoned my Mam and said I needed to get some butter and maybe some streaky bacon as those were ways I'd read about for cooking the turkey and she was like "well I used to do it this way" and did her usual passive aggressive thing, "well it's up to you of course, it's your kitchen" Yes it is my kitchen Mother, and while I value your advice and your help, doesn't mean I have to follow it!Too many cooks and all that!
Prawn cocktails for starters, so at least that's easy enough!0 -

My mum is a master at that too Georgie. To be honest, I'm really not looking forward to it. I am feeling like Christmas is a bit of an annoyance this year when normally I love it.
Will either hear about that job today (I hope not - they've already demanded too much of my Christmas) or in January. I don't think I'll take it unless they offer a spectacular package - it all seemed very dull. Also they showed no interest in me beyond my development experience and didn't even give me a glass of water.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
I know I mostly only lurk here (I'll make it an aim to join in more in 2016) but just wanted to say that you're all lovely and best wishes for a great Christmas.
And now over to The Muppets, who can convey my excitement at Christmas better than I can

OH gave me my Christmas PJs last night, and has promised to put them on the radiator ready for me coming in tonight.
Gonna be a late one, but am determined to watch Muppets Christmas Carol before bed

Aww. That's adorable.
I really need to get up. Those hampers are not going to make themselves and I've already dropped the cookies from them! :rotfl:Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -

It's annoying isn't it code, I hate that passive aggressiveness. If you've got something to say then just say it, get straight to the point!
From what you've said, your current job sounds better. But who knows, they might offer something spectacular that might sway you to jumping ship? And now over to The Muppets, who can convey my excitement at Christmas better than I can
