Good morning Pyxis and thank you! I hope you feel a bit better today!

    Not sure.
On top of the family dross, (which is now really final, no hope left, and that realisation is what has sent me plummetting), I need to do the paperwork I've been putting off all year...tax return stuff.....and I'm terrified of it.....it drags up all the other stuff. Then yesterday there was something else that reared up adding to the pressure, something else I've got to do that I've become extremely anxious about. So it all piled on and I went under. In the end, the anxiety got so bad that I just gave up and stayed in bed.

Later on, I did manage to sort out my travel insurance, though, which I'd been putting off doing as that scared me too.....because of my health and getting older, I was scared what the new premiums would be, plus it meant a really long phone call. I just assume everything will be bad news at the moment.
Well,I did it, and it could have been worse, I suppose. It's ironic, though. The health thing that bothers me the most, the ADHD, they take no account of, but the thing that bothers me the least, the asthma, is what really bumps up the premium. Crazy.

It's funny how, in order to put off doing the really scary thing, you get on and do other, less scary things you've been putting off doing. It reminds me of when I was studying, as a mature student, and my house was cleanest and my cupboards and papers tidiest when I had revision to do!

Anyway, I've really got to do this paperwork today, so I hope I don't go into meltdown again. I've let myself off doing the other scary thing until after I've done the paperwork, though. That makes me feel a bit better. Two really scary things in one day is too much. It did for me yesterday.

What's so very stupid is that intrinsically, neither thing should be scary. It's not like I'm up before the Beak or anything! Stupid brain! Why does it have to turn everything into such a disastrous torment?

Well done on sorting out the travel insurance, that's one thing less and there is a lovely holiday to be had at the end of it, good thing!

What I do when I have scary paperwork is make a list of timings, it seems to help. I write on a piece of paper that during so and so hours I will be dealing with it, and then once those hours are up I put down a treat with the time it will start, too. I than stare at the paper frequently, somehow it makes it's easier to know that the paperwork will take place within a set time only, so I just have to get through those hours and then the good thing definitely happens, it is on the list so it has to!

Definitely don't tackle anything else today, one scary thing at a time. Scary thing will only last for a limited amount of time and then you are free! Your brain doesn't have to cope with anything else today, the other scary thing doesn't count today and isn't to be thought of until another day. One thing at a time with a nice treat at the end, a treat can be diving under the duvet afterwards with cake!
