Too right WaS! Although I am getting better and find it easier to sort it into 4 piles, keep, sell, tip, charity shop! But I have loads of stuff I just can't bear to part with.

Was in Home Bargains yesterday and spotted this desk top drum kit for only £2.99. Thought about getting it for D (yes, I know he's a grown man, but he loves his music, it's a novelty thing and he can take his work related stress out on it!) but then thought that it couldn't be very good for that price....but, it actually isn't bad https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=J1yGdd-mxb8 :rotfl:

Well done on getting into your new jeans code! :T
  • Yes, let us know the details, Birdie and we will try to help! Milliefleur's go-to gift for WaSp for Christmas every year is a bottle of whisky and something, it would cause her problems if he ever stopped drinking it!

Wooohoooo! Well done on the size 14 jeans, code! That is brilliant!

Ok, I have a problem. I decided to make a lasagne the other night with WaSp observing, unfortunately he didn't watch me put the ingredients into the dish and I put in far too much. It all bubbled over and now I have burnt sauce and melted cheese all over the bottom of the oven. It is smoking like you wouldn't believe, we have had to open the windows to stop choking to death. In it's current state the oven is unuseable. How do I get it off? The OS forum speaks of bicarb but that will not shift this, we are talking cheese that has burnt black and is clinging to the oven bottom, even scraping it isn't moving it. Elbow grease is out because I can't scrub with arthritis and WaSp cant bend his head down while his blood pressure is still high. Help please!

  • Do you have any cilt bang WaS? That stuff is pretty good at removing all sorts of stuff! Just spray, leave for a while, and hopefully that should soften it enough to be able to scrape it off....hopefully!

Edit: Just did a quick google, and it also says bicarb and water, but to leave it to settle overnight.
  • Gingernutty, congrats on the weight loss, that's awesome IMO. I must do something as mine keeps going up and I'll be asking people for new trousers for Christmas in a bigger waist size if I don't (the fact I finally cracked baking cakes that actually rise this year has not helped with my weight at all :o )

tea, I'm a car enthusiast but I get defeated by them sometimes too, some things are simply not obvious until you've had time to read the instructions. I had a loan car from the garage while mine was being serviced, they always leave them with barely any fuel so I went to the petrol station and ... couldn't get in to the filler cap. After five minutes of fighting with it I drove off, not having bought any petrol :o Fortunately I only had to do 20 miles that day but when I got back to the garage the fuel gauge was against its stop on Empty and I spent the last few miles of the journey wondering if it ws going to conk out on me.

  • Thank you Georgie! (Fred says hi!)

I do have Cillit Bang, I shall try that and leave it for a bit. Honestly, WaSp and I are coughing with our eyes streaming here, the fumes are awful! This is why I don't cook alone!

Now I want cake, Ono. Make one and eat it for me! (Bad influence, I know).

Birdie - I know what you mean. My go to present for my dad was a bottle of whisky as he liked a wee dram of an evening. All my siblings did the same though, so he has a slush pile of the stuff that he can't drink because he's on medication. Last year I got him a Christmas jumper. What does your dad like? How old is he? What's the budget. I'm sure Team WaS (especially whitewing the present ninja) can come up with some ideas.

Dad is 63, semi-retired chemist (as in, works with chemicals and is generally a bit of a mad scientist!), not really into tat and joke presents. Likes steam trains and dinky toys. Currently suffering very limited movements in his hands so little tinkery toys are out. Budget around £30.

Whilst we're at it, I need a gift for MIL. Age 60, loves crafts. All crafts, knitting, sewing, papercraft etc. Not into girly things and doesn't 'get' brands, a candle is a candle, she wouldn't *know* if it cost £3 or £30 etc! :p Budget is £30. :)

I got into my new pair of size 14 jeans today. Does happy dance.

    Well done! :T

Tea, I meant to sympathise with you about pool cars! I hate driving our pool cars, they're way too confusing and powerful for me! :o I didn't like driving on holiday either, the car was far too big for me, and on the wrong side of the road! :o

  • Feeling very, very irritable today for no reason. My colleague is eating nuts (as she always does) but today the crunching is annoying me, my new trousers are a bit staticy and that is annoying me, I don't think I rinsed my hair well enough and that's annoying me...

...and I have to try and sell raffle tickets while feeling like this!

I shall hide in the fort.

EDIT: Code, I'll test the biscuits!

  • Aw, hope today gets a bit better, HBS! You need something sweet! That usually works for me.

Is gingerbread easy to make, code? I love ginger and I have often thought of trying to make some. I wish online recipes came in a language that I can follow, they talk about how many grams and ounces and I immediately get confused, tell me something easy like how many coffee mugs! I panic when I see measurements and then forget half the numbers by the time I am on the next line. Then I give up.

Yay Fred! Give him a wave back and a hi from me too!

Hope the cilt bang doesn't make you cough and eyes stream anymore!

    ! :o

Whilst I was in Home Bargains yesterday, I saw a kit to knit your own tea cosy! Or maybe something like a kit to make a little case for her mobile phone? Or I've also seen kits to knit and put together cushions etc.
