Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
Hi guys, I hope you're all ok. I'm in so much pain still, I'm hoping that the pain is the healing process , but I'm scared that it's the mesh cutting into me and I'm scared that I will always feel it, I have heard of people feeling the pain all the time. I'm feeling really traumatised and harrowed by the last 6 months, it's been so hard living with a life threatening hernia situation. I think the post operative depression is kicking in.. I always get so low for a couple of months after an anesthetic. And I'm feeling quite hemmed in as I can't drive for 6 weeks. One nice thing that happened today was a surprise parcel through the post. I'm a member of a Facebook perfume sale/swap /discussion group as it's one of my passions and my friends always call me 'the Nose' as I have a supernatural sense of smell. Anyway some of the members clubbed together and send me a large box of perfume samples, a box of chocolates and a card.. it's the kindness of strangers, people can be so kind!.. and one of the members is going to post me a parcel of perfume samples once a month to cheer me up.. how awesome is that :)
Many thanks to all who contribute on MSE :)

I agree on Muppets Christmas Carol. It's the best Christmas film ever. Not Christmas until I've seen it.

    It's Scrooged!

I might have had a little celeb crush on Karen Allen ever since 'Starman' ...:o

Good point! Scrooged is great...but it doesn't have Rizzo :D

By total chance have stumbled upon a programme about opiate addiction. Have tapered for the last few weeks and currently 25 hours without any codeine at all. Have been sneezing pretty much constantly all day.

    Sorry all am alive.
OH has been suicidal so have been dealing with healthy minds/Dr's and Brave have been shouting at the HA
  • Big hugs Fairy, hang in there. I am so glad that your friends are taking care of you.

Big hugs for you, too Melly. So sorry to hear about OH.

I do not own a salt and pepper pot, a situation I believe needs to be remedied immediately. WaSp does not believe that a salt and pepper pot is an adequate birthday gift. I have one day left to convince him...

    .

Hehe Rizzo is my fave in MCC! Animal has always been my favourite overall, but he could be close to being over taken by Pepe the king Prawn! :D

Faerie, sorry to hear you're still in a lot of pain, but how lovely of your friends to send you a present :)

Nice to hear from you Melly, but sorry to hear about your DH :(

WaS, if that is what you want, then it is an adequate birthday gift IMO :) If he doesn't think that is enough, you could tell him to get other matching kitchen items such as utensils jar or a cookie jar!
  • I agree, Georgie! WaSp is his mother's son, as much as Milliefleur won't buy anything useful in the kitchen for gifts neither will WaSp. I don't care if "I can get one in Asda for £2! That's not a present!" is true, I want a salt and pepper pot! (I drive the poor man insane but I'm very cheap to buy for).

  • I remember one valentines day, I told D not to waste money on buying me a big bouquet of roses, chocolates, teddy bear etc, as they double the price, and they weren't worth it, and I was happy with a £1.50 bunch of carnations instead. He wanted to get me something, so what I actually asked for was a spare memory card and battery for my camera! A present I'd get much more enjoyment and use out of.

Fingers crossed you get your S&P set! :D
