  • Happy happy birthday JM!

It has been a bit of a rollercoaster weekend. I'm almost glad to be at work! Cheerio practise was OK but some niggles with their routines, not feeling well in my tummy, and lost my great Aunt on Saturday (NOT your fault WaS!). She'd been poorly for a while, but still :(

OH was away over the weekend but back last night so I am happy to have had lots of snuggles. Didn't want to get out of bed today though haha, could have totally brought my duvet to work!

    HBS x

Happy Birthday JM - fort party later??

Glad you're feeling a bit better today WaS x.

faerie - hope you got some sleep and the pain is easing. Do make sure you call them again if it's not.

HBS - sorry to hear about your great aunt. I had to prise myself away from the duvet this morning too.... not least because it's FREEZING at work. Also have a meeting today that I am really, really not looking forward to. Roll on hometime!

    Happy birthday, JM.

HBS, sorry about your great aunt.

I am wondering if it would be so terrible to eat one of the chocolate oranges that I bought for the stockings...

Oh dear, tea, you are making me weak.

I am chuckling away at #Brusselslockdown this morning. Brussels is on lockdown because of the anti-terror raids, and residents have been asked not to share details of the police/military operation on social media, so they are posting cat pictures and memes. It is funny (but I haven't linked it in in case anyone is needing to avoid it altogether).

Some of my present-searching was actually addictive behaviour. The Paris attacks unsettled me and I was beginning to be hypervilgilant on reading all the media reports. Luckily you lot diverted my attention to presents. This is the first time that I replaced unhealthy behaviour with less unhealthy behaviour (it was still slightly unhealthy because of the amount of time I was surfing). It has been a joy to see what creativity there is in the world and it has made a massive difference to my mindset and mental health.

I think looking at beautiful gifts and crafts and thinking about presents for those we care about is a lovely reaction to the madness of the world right now. I hope it's lifted you x.

In other news - my stomach may be trying to kill me. It's been rebelling for 5 days now. Fed up!
  • Sorry to hear about your great aunt HBS :(

Thanks to your present searching skills WW, it has inspired me to explore etsy even further (not that I need any encouragement, I already adored that site!) and found loads of awesome things....i have to keep on reminding myself though that I'm buying for other people and not myself! Doesn't do any harm if an item or two "accidentally" falls into my shopping basket though does it?! :p I have now narrowed my basket down from 20 to 11....it's progress!
