Church was lovely last night. Everyone made us feel very welcome indeed. Some of them remembered us from the last time we were there, and we had a good crack and a laugh
The vicar who did my Dad's funeral took this service alongside his wife who is also a vicar. They've got a very calming way about them, and the man vicar came and sat with us afterwards (there was tea and biscuits) and remembered that I did photography!
We all went up and lit a candle for our loved ones and then they turned all the lights completely out, just leaving all the candles twinkling away on the altar....it was beautifulReally symbolic. Whilst this was happening, the lady vicar read out all the names of our loved ones.
It really was a lovely service, and they couldn't have made us feel more welcome, unlike the church my Mam used to go to (but that's another story) and now she's thinking of going now and again.0 -

I'm glad the service was nice Georgie.
I'm sorry for your loss HBS.
If people are after special keepsake gifts for around £20 I make scrapbook style shadow box frames. I'll try and post some photos tonight. I don't have an Etsy shop (still need to sort one out!) but I've got a FB page.
This week my job is making special Christmas Cards
I'm excited as my pretty dress should be arriving today! I've got a red petticoat and red shrug to go with it.I'd like some red (suede?) Mary-Janes to wear with it but haven't found any I like yet. WW, help?!?!

Afternoon Team WaS. It's a bit dreich here which makes me glum. Need to collect some presents I had delivered to collect in store from two different places.
Also liberated some nectar points on ebay so got £54 worth of stuff for £4. That's stocking fillers and a coupmr of extra things to open for Mr Codigopombo and some sweets for the sweet hamper I'm making for the parents. Nothing for me, even though I need a coat and new jeans. I suspect one shouldn't be able to remove jeans without undoing them. Will pass a few chazzers on the way there so will have a look but I need long/tall jeans so it's a long shot.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -

Why? Why? Why would you do this to me? :rotfl:Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
Sorry for your loss HBS.
Glad you found the service welcoming Georgie. I'm not religious, but take Escapette to a church run playgroup. Everyone is so supportive and welcoming, I'd like her to spend time with people l people that, whatever their beliefs.
Your frames sound good Birdie, I'd be interested to see a picture.
Hope you are feeling better WaS.
Having a tough day today. Escapette is screaming each time I go near her, yet settles nicely for my mum. Only a week until I go back to work and feeling really awful about leaving her.0 -
