Blimey WaS, when you two decide to get some excitement you don't do things by halves! Glad to hear he'll be home soon, hope you're both feeling OK.0

Don't worry about the inspection - in the worst case scenario there is blood everywhere and you have all sorts of prescriptions and stuff from the hospital, so you can demonstrate what happened and that it was an emergency, and something that has never happened before, has now been treated, and is unlikely ever to happen again.............Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0

Hahahaha! I spoke to WaSp on the phone a few minutes ago and we both agreed that it's lucky that it didn't happen yesterday. JL may have had an altogether different Christmas opening! On that note if he had gone to Milliefleur's party he would be staying in Yorkshire right now, so that also worked out well in the end because poor Milliefleur would have panicked beyond belief and it would have ruined her whole weekend.
I am cleaning blood in little spurts, it isn't easy because it has dried. My fault for not leaping to it. If the inspection isn't cancelled then they will have to put up with things as they are, WaSp certainly can't run around cleaning things and has been told to rest for the next few days to make up the blood he lost and because the blood pressure medication could make him feel dizzy. I can only do bits and pieces so really there is nothing more that either of us can do.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Heard from WaSp, it wasn't a varicose vein (although he does have those too), the vein actually burst because of how high the pressure is, scary! His blood pressure is over 200 top number, which isn't good. They are going to give him a heart xray just to check that there is no damage but otherwise they will send him home with a two week prescription and he must see his doctor in the meantime for more medication. They would really like him to stay in hospital but because he is my carer they will send him home but he has to keep his leg elevated and take it very easy for the next few weeks, especially until the medication fully works. That's it so far.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

I wish I was there to help you clean up, WaS, so that you could just look after WaSp. (I'm not actually that good at cleaning really).
Funny how things work out though. Like you say, ucky he wasn't at the party. It would have been awful if you'd been far apart from each other.
May be worth giving bubbly bulldozer a call tomorrow and seeing if they would be able to temporarily up your support.
Don't want to worry you, but he will probably have to tell the DVLA. I guess the doctors will tell him that anyway. ETA: Actually, it isn't a problem for car driving. I misread it.

Aw, thank you whitewing.
WaSp is home and fast asleep with his leg on pillows, he is still a little weak and dizzy from the blood loss. He has to keep his leg straight and raised as much as possible for the next 10 days and keep a compression bandage on it and thermal slipper sock, he also needs to see a doctor next week (hopefully a home visit) for further blood pressure treatment. He cannot drive until his blood pressure reduces (again this would have been a complete nightmare if he had been at the other end of the country ).
We are going to be an interesting pair, leaning on each other for the next couple of weeks but I am sure that we will muddle through. At least we can get food delivered and the delivery driver can carry it up the stairs for us so that is one less worry. I may have to go to the door to let him in but I am telling myself that it is character building. If we really can't cope I shall call my bubbly bulldozer and remind her that she offered further carers should I need them.
I am staying up all night to clean the flat for the inspection, it is going to be interesting because this will be cleaning WaS style, anything could happen! I have made myself a detailed list so hopefully if my memory fails I can consult my piece of paper. WaSp being a total sweetheart asked me what time I wanted him to get up to clean, errr no he needs to stay in bed with that leg up! I shall get on with it, wish me luck!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Hopefully WaSp will be feeling a little better today and your coping WaS.

Good morning Melly and thank you! I spent most of the night cleaning, well actually I spent most of the night staring at various cleaning instruments in my hand, losing all track of what I was supposed to be doing and dashing to my list for help. Other than almost blowing the kettle up no disasters so far and just rubbish to throw out and floors to mop to go.
WaSp is still sleeping, I am checking on him every hour but he seems content and oblivious to the world. I shall let him sleep for as long as he wants to, if he is still in bed when the surveyor gets here then it doesn't matter. I think a coffee break is in order!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France
