Thinking of you both x x0 -
I am waiting for the landlady to call me back, I am desperately trying to cancel the inspection tomorrow. Cross everything for me please!
WaSp was tiding up and out of nowhere blood began spurting out of the top of his foot. He hadn't cut it or hurt it, it just started shooting out in a spray. We tried to stop the bleeding and it wouldn't stop at all so I called an ambulance.
They said it was a burst varicose vein, apparently they just suddenly pop and then bleed profusely. They bandaged him up and took his blood pressure which was so high that it was a medical emergency. They also tested his sugar levels which were very high indicating diabetes. The ambulance staff said he had to be admitted immediately so that they can get his blood pressure down, so off he went.
We don't know right now how long he will be in hospital for, it depends on when his blood pressure drops to a comfortable level, could be a night, could be a couple of days. No one worry though, I am fine! I just need to clean the blood off of almost everything and then cancel this inspection tomorrow. Oh gosh WaS that sounds scary! Well done for keeping your head together in all this. let's hope you can get that inspection cancelled, I'm sure they'll understand what with the circumstances.0

Thank you everyone! Good news, it looks like WaSp will be home in a few hours, bandaged up and with some blood pressure pills which they have already started him on. There will be follow up blood pressure treatment and what we now know are varicose veins will also need treatment but it looks like he doesn't have to stay in hospital overnight so yay!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Phew! What a relief! Lots of love and very gentle squishes to you both, and tell WaSp to be a total saint in taking his meds! Hope you continue to cope OK, and that he's OK too xxxxxxxEx board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0

Yes, everything is fine so far. I never knew a burst varicose vein could produce so much blood, it was a fountain! Apparently it can be quite dangerous hence the panic but has an easy solution. They have glued the vein closed and he is just waiting for the follow up treatments he needs to be booked. I must try to clean up because there is blood everywhere and I can't expect WaSp to do it when he gets home, he needs to rest.
