It's flipping freezing here! Definitely no snow yet though, just an evil cold wind.
Do you need me to store anything edible for you code?? I promise it would be safe :rotfl::rotfl:0 -
No, I agree, that kind of snow is not fun. I hate the wind, it causes so much damage. Will penguin this next bit (about death):
Many years ago, my Mam's cousin was driving along and it was gale force winds. It blew a tree down over her car and sadly she was killedEver since then, I stick to main roads when it's like this (so many country roads and trees here) and it gives me the heeby jeebies
End penguin
I'm making a lavender inspired hamper up for my Aunty.Did you buy your baskets and packaging for them off the internet too?

Tea - the only food bits so far are spices for the wine (cinnamon sticks, cloves, cardamom pods etc.) They smell awesome but I don't want everything in my house to smell of them. The rest is glasses (of the drinking variety), boxes and Christmas ribbons and games for the beer hampers.
Georgie, I bought the stuff off eBay mostly but have since found out that the pound shop or b&m sell make your own hamper kits that probably work out cheaper.
I walk DA through the woods most days and curse that I don't have a wood burner or open fire because there are so many trees that get blown over or are trimmed and they just leave thme lying. If you had a chainsaw and a

Aw, sorry to hear that Georgie, big hugs. No wonder it makes you wary.
I want snow!
Well, by some miracle the cleaning is finished! I did grab 4 hours sleep but now I have done all that I can do. WaSp is awake and playing on my old laptop in bed, he has a headache which is worrying but I am hoping it is due to the blood loss rather than blood pressure. He slept for 12 hours which is very unusual for him but his foot is fine so far so that's something. I am already driving him mad by watching him like a hawk and doing things for him, he wants to get up and go for a walk! That is a huge no, he only wants to go because he can't!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Sometimes a really good sleep gives me a headache - annoyingly! Like a little hangover :rotfl:.
Sounds like you're doing a great job at making sure he rests. Hope you both get a peaceful afternoon.0 -
Afternoon my Lovelies,
Lashing down with rain now like its really winter LOL!! but now the sun has come out.
WaS Sorry to here about WaSP. That must have been scary but good to hear that he is on the mend. You take care too.
last estate agent coming at 2pm. They are about the sameish price. Silly prices if you ask me but there you go :rotfl:
Talking of hampers, baskets are expensive to buy. Would a ream box be any better. That is what I have used in the past to do things like that. Cost nothing and can be put in to cardboard recycling.
I have just bought cellophane and make your own ribbons that I have no idea how to make up from ebay. As for xmas for both my step grand daughters. Was going to nappy cakes up.Yes did I say stepson gf has had a baby as well!!!! I
And do mini hampers for everyone else. When I can get my bum in to gear and get to the shops and buy what I need to go in them. Everyone smells in my family as that is what they are getting. Men are getting lynx and the ladies are getting Dove. About a £1 each for shower gels/bubble baths if I shop carefully. With a few other bits chucked in for good measure.
There are couple of threads on the christmas board about hampers. Some very professionally looking ones and good ideas. My local florists are charging £25 for a chocolate bouquet. All it is different chocolate bars stuck on skewers and then stuck in to that oasis stuff for flower arranging in a box to hide it. If that makes sense LOL!!!
Right I have made a appointment to see the Dr next week its at 1.30 but as far as I am aware our surgery shuts for lunch between 1-2. So very confused and now worried. Had a text to confirm the date and time. Not sure what to do as it would not let me have an appointment if it did not exist?
Anyway hugs, handshakes and squishes to all that need them. I will lob some more jaffa cakes in to the fort. With the weather as it is looks like trousers for the christening on sunday.
Might see if I can lose the weight for me to wear the dress I bought for the christening on Xmas day. Got 6 weeks to loose at least half a stone.
Yours

WaS, check the leaflet that comes with WaSp's pills. Sometimes some meds can give you a headache in the early stages of taking them. If so, you'd know it's nothing to worry about.(I just lurve spiders!)

Life is laughing at me. A lot. I heard the landlady on the landing so leapt to the door and opened it ready for her and the surveyor, she then informed that they don't have to check my flat until next year. I stayed up all night cleaning singlehandedly...at least the place is almost spotless?
Good thinking, Pyxis! WaSp's pills do indeed cause headaches and also dizziness for the first few days while the body adjusts to the sudden drop in blood pressure. That is totally expected, phew!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France
