I was awake until 1pm after being up all night beforehand because I was too anxious to sleep in case I missed the phone call! I was dealing with trying to get hold of a spot cream believe it or not, that was on prescription. The pharmacist insisted it was discontinued, the doctors surgery said it wasn't. This involved WaSp going to three different chemists to be told the same thing. I finally got hold of my doctor and it turned out they were both sort of right, the company that makes the cream had been bought by another company so it did still exist but had a new brand name. I fell into bed after that and slept right the way through to 11.30pm and now of course, I am wide awake.

Aw, you sound like you still have a bit of temperature but are slowly getting better. Are you having ridiculous amounts of fluids to replace your electrolytes and stop dehydration? When my stomach was bad after the avocado disaster my doctor told me make up a pint of water with a pinch of salt and half a teaspoon of sugar and drink that to keep my electrolytes stable.
I have been lucky with prescriptions the past couple of months but there is almost always some kind of problem. This is why I now call the doctor's surgery everytime one is due to try to pre-empt any disasters. Usually it involves my codeine prescription because it is soluble and not tablets. It is rarely given out in that form because people often use it to get high so either a visiting doctor questions it or the chemist doesn't have it because hardly anyone takes it. I wouldn't mind if I actually got the being high benefit but after 10 years of being on codeine I don't react to it at all, it's my only medication that has no side effects!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Have lost count of how many glasses of water ive drank to try and avoid being dehydrated. That said I still have a headache though have taken some paracetamol (hoping it will bring my Temperature down)
I've had so many problems with prescriptions! Mainly with doctors putting a appointment requirement on them but not telling me so when ive gone to pick then up they've not been allowed to give then, lost count of how many emergency supplies ive had to have.
I finally (I know it's taken too long) registered at the new doctors, will be on the system by Monday and first point of call is an appointment for new meds and booking the dreaded smear test. Spelling of new doctors, I don't know what to say at my first appointment? Obv they will (hopefully!) havmy medical record to hand but I'm worried about what to say, basically I need my meds, ideally on a repat prescription (though realise they might not grant that straight away) but how do I ask? I know it sounds silly but don't want to come across as some weird pill popping addict (though quite frankly I don't think there's any recreational benefits to my meds and I wouldn't take them unless I had to). This is a system account and does not represent a real person. There are definitely no recreational benefits to my prescriptions.
That reminds me, I need to get a prescription request in before my prescription prepayment certificate runs out early next month.
I've had the reminder, but the card always arrives after the expiry date.
Better to be safe than sorry.
I've had a rotten cold for almost two weeks. It's almost gone - just in time for work tonight...
I've arranged a chiropodist's appointment and a hair cut for later this morning, I need to get my eyebrows threaded and put a cardigan in to the tailors to be altered.
This is after almost two weeks of lethargy, a 'meh' city break to Cambridge and lots of lie ins because I couldn't bring myself to get out of bed for any reason.
I've been eating junk food every day too.
I'm trying to stay up late, get a couple of hours napping in and then try to sleep for the rest of the day.
Well, it's a plan. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
Well done for registering, MU! I dread going to the first appointment with a new doctor, I feel like saying I am your resident nutter who is going to take a large part of your budget on 13 different medications monthly! Please don't hate me!
I usually start by saying I have previously had my medication on repeat prescription and would really like that to continue. I always feel better saying it has been done before, it sounds like I am just asking for a continuation rather than a brand new thing. I have never been refused, I have almost everything on repeat and with the items that I don't I just attach a note when my prescription is due asking for the extra things. I have codeine, Tramadol, anti-psychotics and antidepressants all on repeat and they only review them once a year in person so I am sure you will be fine, especially as they will almost certainly have your records from your previous doctor. The only times I have had to make an appointment every two months was after being hospitalised and/or suicide attempts and that usually ended after six months.
When you feel a bit more settled with them check if they have a vulnerable patients service. My doctor has this and it means that I can email him with any problems and he can often prescribe for me without seeing me (Yay! Minimal phone use and no sitting in the waiting room under a blanket!). Plus there is now a text service which means I can text him with health problems too as well as booking appointments by text. On top of that I can also be seen the same day if I need to be and have same day home visits. Another doctor at the centre uses text Skype for his patients. I have also had an appointment and needed a blood test as a result which was done by the nurse 10 minutes later rather than me having to make another separate appointment. My centre offers this for people over 75, people with terminal illness, vulnerable children and those with complex mental health problems or learning disabilities. If that scheme is available to you I really recommend that you apply for it.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Aw, sorry to hear you have such a bad cold and a general meh time, Ginger. You have a busy morning ahead, eyebrow threading has always fascinated me. I am hoping to get a nap later in the morning and then stay awake so I can get my sleep pattern back on track. I'll probably be wide awake until 4pm or something and then wake up at 2am and be up all tomorrow night, too...Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Ohhh, Gripe Water contains Dill, that explains a lot. One of my favourite things in the world are cucumbers pickled in Dill. In fact anything containing Dill. As a child I would eat a jar of pickled gherkins on their own in one sitting (and I wonder why I have acid reflux problems).
Good morning! Hope everyone slept well and has a good start to the day!

Good WaS, OH the threat of it sent OH over the edge because of being anxious about reprisals0
