bit of a bad day here...........my youngest has been diagnosed with asthma and i've also got to get a wee test from here to check for diabetes as she drinks a stupid amount and hasnt put on hardly any weight at all in the last year.

looking forward to tomorrows tea!!! got a duck reduced in asda for £2.25(display until 20th,use by 22nd) so going to have that as a roast with potatoes, green beans, french beans all from our allotment!! will also make some yorkshires as my girls love them and do some carrots.
  • (Csarina....how many people will you be cooking Christmas dinner for??Just assume the role of executive chef and order your minions to do all the prep and fiddly bits. Congrats on at least being listened to on storage problem and good luck with your proposal.)

There are 28 apartments in the building, we are the only couple, which makes 29 people..............no idea how many will want to come.......I might do a sausage and mash lunch before hand just to see how many might be interested................I must be crackers, I said I had finished with large scale catering..............but my mouth let me down by opening at the wrong time!!!

apparently we are getting the kitchen modernised and a new porch on the front of the building.............it would seem that a new carpet and chairs for the sitting room are also on the cards............but we cannot have a shower..............
September grocery budget........trying for £80, not sure if I will make it though!!!!! I certainly did not last month, lost track of the final bill. Will do better this month honest.

  • OOOOOh did I hear my name?

Happy Birthday Ladygrim. Huggles to frogga and anyone else who needs one.

I am currently too shamefaced to show myself on OS LOL :D I am being as non OS as it is possible to be at the moment and my breadmaker is gather dust on the top shelf.

Eldest DD is babysitting for me during the school hols, and doing my housework and ironing for me. I pay her £50 a week and make sure she has all the goodies she fancies eating too.

Life with the new man is absolutely wonderful. He loves me and the kids to bits, cooks, does DIY and also doesn't mind the odd bit of gardening, as far removed from XH as it could possibly get really. I am being spoilt rotten and making the most of being a pampered puss for the time being.

I have done nothing towards christmas except for save £100 of Tesco stamps, so this weekend I plan on trying to shop for some christmas pressies, even my daughter was shocked when she found out I hadn't bought anything. All the new uniforms are bought for September though so I haven't been completely lazy.

I just wish my boss wasn't so disorganised and power crazed though, I would come home with so much more energy if I didn't have to deal with her. I bought a new VAX 3 in 1 cleaner last week so I could clean the carpets. I aim to do at least the dining room one tonight as my new table and chairs gets delivered tomorrow. It is so nice to finally buy decent stuff which will last instead of the cheap modern tat that XH always wanted.

    Hi Everyone

Once again I have slipped. The schools going back, a weekend away and I have not been watching you all. If I backtrack too much during the evening I just get nothing done and with working full-time I can't afford to do that. When I could watch you all and post replies at work that was great.

Just read your post above this one Moggins. Well sweatheart, how have you turned things round. You sound so happy!

Neave - you must be in frontline services - well done with the awful situation in Newquay.

Anyway, thoughts, love, hugs and congratulations to you all - it is not that I am not thinking of you all. I do try and keep up honest.

My family all doing well. DGS3 seems to have turned night into day but they are working on that! He was burbling down phone today and he is so vocal! Not seeing them until next weekend which is two weeks since last sighting! Can't wait. DGSs 1 and 2 seemed to have reached a happy truce and are playing well together. DGS1 should have started school this Wednesday but he is too young emotionally (only just 4 and a half) and I do think it better he has another year at nursery.

    Anyway, love to you all.

    PS

Mean Marie - was it you I was sending the Dundee Cake instructions too. I have deleted my PMs! Have them ready to type out and send. - Can you pm me?

Hi, well I finally managed to pop on here. We're busy at the moment 'renovating' our kitchen i.e. replacing worktops, doors sink etc I've got boxes of kitchen stuff all over the house and it's a bit like an obstacle course. At least the girls have been able to play out today as the weather has been fairly decent.
Tomorrow my dad is coming over to help DH, while I take the kids into town with my mum to buy their school shoes  .
I did manage to cook a lovely ham, vegetable tomato sauce type stew in the sc for our tea which went down well. I think it will be a chippy tea tomorrow though.
Hope everyone has had a good day.

Thank you for all your kind comments, you really are a lovely lot!

I'm really pleased to report that the operation went well and he's out of theatre and in ITU, all his stats are how they should be and there were no complications (he has Lukemia also so he's a bit of a tricky case although its pretty much dormant) He had a triple bypass and they managed to use the veins in his chest so he didn't have to have any removed from his legs which is great news. He's awake and not on ventilation and i'm so relieved.

Once my dd was in bed I made hob nobs to take my mind off my Dad, they are lovely, thanks for mentioning them so I could have a go!

Pooky - I love lakeside, didn't know that there was a Primark there, must go and have a look when i'm more mobile and thinner!

Ladygrim - Happy Birthday, 39 is such a milestone! ;) Hope you have a lovely day

Frogga - Thats a pain about your husband's HGV, when I was in transport it used to be that most newly qualified drivers would get experience through working for the agencies and then get full time jobs when they were experienced. Will they let him do some class 2 in the meantime?

Glad to hear your Dad's ok - as for the Primark at Lakeside........................it's a 3 storey one!!!!!!!! :D

  • Hi everyone,
Well, I finally have had some time to read about everyone's day and post. To all who have had a less than great day, (((((((((hugs))))))))) - keep your chin up as it will get better. To everyone who has had a great day and good news, congratulations.

Don't know why I've had such a busy day - nothing particularly unusual. I think I am just getting used to the slower pace of life of the summer hols, just as we're getting ready to go back - typical.

Posted an ebay parcel today - not happy about it as it was a huge parcel of DD1's clothes - had a timewaster that took three weeks to sort out properly. When I relisted the time for summer clothes was over, so 30 odd items went for 99p!!! Still, I've had some bargains in the past, just not such a good one!

Re. the bedwetting - my sis has that issue until she was well into her teen years - we went to stay at relatives for a weekend and mum just got her up twice per night to go to the loo - never looked back!! She had tried that method for years, but it seemed that the time was right!! So you see, it can just suddenly stop for no real reason.
Hope the night is good for one and all, with restful and undisturbed sleep.

    Tilly

    Frogga,

Only old enough to be your mother I'm afraid, not your grandmother. Thanks for your kind words...my (adult) children would choke themselves laughing at any idea that I might have words of wisdom to offer anyone.
