  • Well HRH has been..........its funny the gardeners turned up this morning to cut the grass which had not grown.........and do general maintenence work which they have made a right balls up of.........meeting went quite well all things considered, we put several points to them which they have taken on board, I still think she is a very pretentious lady.............the attic locks are under investigation the fire service have told her they need to be special fire locks, which I think she is going to find too expensive. We have suggested an alternative to her, we will see if she takes it on board........

It look like I might have volunteered to cook a Christmas lunch for the residents.........................EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK I must be mad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
September grocery budget........trying for £80, not sure if I will make it though!!!!! I certainly did not last month, lost track of the final bill. Will do better this month honest.

    Tesco £57.13
    Petrol £10.00
  • Hi
Well that wasn't too bad, only did half a day at work & I've been to the butchers, we have DSS & his GF staying from tomorrow till friday, I bought a couple of huge lamb shanks for tomorrow & I have a chicken in the freezer that will do for a couple of days. I'm out for lunch on Wednesday when it's cheap listing day on Ebay, so I'm going to try to do it all early before I go.
    Happy birthday LG
    Happy Anni the Peems
    Hugs Hester

    morning all,

Congrats to all celebrating birthdays and anniversarys, and hugs to those feeling down x

Nice peacefull day for me, dd is off to town with my sister for the afternoon, so i have a bit of peace, although lots to do. I have already done two loads of washing, and got them out on line, although looks like rain  house has had a good tidy, toilet cleaned, paperwork done, just need to nip to Mr T, for a new book, and then do an online shop with Mr S ? if that is what you call the other one:rolleyes: .
Then need to phone a helpline and see if they can fix oh laptop, he bought it new a few weeks ago but now the keyboard does not work.

Dinner is hm beef and onion pie, mash and veg.

    xx

    Hi all,

Not having the best of days!:(

Had a letter from Child tax credit : We were getting £120 a month. They overpaid us previously , so we owe £3000. Also as my husband is Self Employed it has always been a real pain to try and "guesstemate" how much he will earn in the comming year hense more reason for the overpayment.

They have decieded to give us no more payments until the amount is paid off in full ( more than 2 years). I have appealed but have been told that taking account of how much husband earned last year we would now only be entitled to £40 anyway so they wont now pay anything as we owe so much. The long and short of it is we are now £120 a month down.

Also , mortgage deal is at an end. We were on 3.5% so it is going to be a huge hike! I'm guessing at least £200! Brilliant! Have made a start into looking into a better deal.

Had saved £50 of Mr T vouchers and wanted to keep them to spend on clubcard deals for days out with the kids. Have just spent them on food though as cupboard is bare and we have guests down next week so cant live on beans on toast then!

    Really cheesed off!

One last moan, DH passed his HGV last week as a lot of you know and wanted some HGV work at weekend to suppliment his earnings. Have spent all morning phoning round but no one want to give him work until he has some experience. Looks like it was all a complete waste of money.

    Now going to EAT X

We paid £1000 for a electricians course for hubby & he then wasn't allowed to 'pass' the test as he doesn't drive! I'm beginning to think a lot of these courses are just a con.

    it certanly feels that way.

I know I sound like a moany old cow , but we work SO hard TRYING to better ourselves and make things work. We don't ask for a penny from anyone (parents) and claim no benifits. It just feels like we are always going backwards!
