    Hi !

Frogga you have my sympathies as we had one of those letters last week from the child tax credit people and we owe £1120:eek: but they have given us time to pay it off.

Have just been talking to my neighbour and he has ADDERS in his garden:eek:   and I though it was bad enough to have frogs! he is trying to find out if someone will come and get rid of them but is having no luck yet, tried the housing association and the RSPCA with no joy.
We did see a snake a few years ago basking in the sun but thought it was a big grass snake! but have seen nothing since just loads of frogs. Will be a nervous wreck now when I go up the garden!

better get on and do something I suppose, catch you later xx

Big hugs to Frogga and everyone else who needs them.

10yo dd and i are just back form the climate camp. It was brilliant - we spent saturday with the kids making banners and a huge model plane and then took them on a march on sunday against the proposed third runway at heathrow. we met some lovely people and had lots of lovely vegan food but i think i owuld need a bit more time to love compost loos :)

Lots to do - must unpack the wet muddy camping stuff and tidy the house as we left in a bit of a hurry on saturday.

    have a good day
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

    Happy Birthday ladygrim!

Got all my chores done for the day, including cleaning the downstairs as OH will be home soon and his Dad is likely to come in for a cuppa. Nothing like the incentive of visitors to get my house clean quickly!

Hope you get everything sorted frogga. I know what you mean about the course being a waste of money, but it will come through in the end I'm sure!
  • Frogga, could he try temp agencies to get experience?? He may have to use holiday time to be able to take a job to get hte experience; I wonder if its because he only wants weekend work, maybe that's putting them off, wonderign who reliable he'd be.

Thanx for the sugestion Odds & sods. It was agencies I was trying but they will only give weekend work to their regular drivers.

As he is a self employed courier at the moment he doesn't get any "holiday". He took a week off last week to do the course and that's all he can take. If he is off work he not only doesn't get paid , but has to find someone to do his round for the week. The week he just took was the first week he's had off in 6 years! Yes, you did read that right, 6 years!!! You can see why I say he works B****Y hard can't you?

We've been saying for years " things will get better next year!". We seem to do everything on the cheap and sometimes it gets really irritating! We only spent £35 getting married and I didn't even have a posh frock ~ I got married in my school uniform! ( that's what happens when your boyfriend says " can you bunk off school on Friday afternoon?"). Still ,17 years this year so all those that said "it'll never last" can eat their words!:T

Thank you for all your kind comments, you really are a lovely lot!

I'm really pleased to report that the operation went well and he's out of theatre and in ITU, all his stats are how they should be and there were no complications (he has Lukemia also so he's a bit of a tricky case although its pretty much dormant) He had a triple bypass and they managed to use the veins in his chest so he didn't have to have any removed from his legs which is great news. He's awake and not on ventilation and i'm so relieved.

Once my dd was in bed I made hob nobs to take my mind off my Dad, they are lovely, thanks for mentioning them so I could have a go!

Pooky - I love lakeside, didn't know that there was a Primark there, must go and have a look when i'm more mobile and thinner!

Ladygrim - Happy Birthday, 39 is such a milestone! ;) Hope you have a lovely day

Frogga - Thats a pain about your husband's HGV, when I was in transport it used to be that most newly qualified drivers would get experience through working for the agencies and then get full time jobs when they were experienced. Will they let him do some class 2 in the meantime?

Glad to hear all went well alibob.

None of the agencies were interested at all! Going to write directly to local haulage companies and see if that gets anything. x

    Thanks Frogga,

I would imagine that they might change their minds when it gets closer to christmas and they are desperate for drivers, might be worth getting him to call them once a month and remind them that he's available.
