you seem to think the landlords and others who think prices are not crazy high are your enemy. The reality is that most people are decent and good and want things to be good for everyone. The general view here seems to be that

1: prices are not absurd everywhere in England

2: Prices in London are high but this is explained by very high population growth and low build rates in the capital

3: The solution to the problem is build more homes especially in London

I do not think any of those views are radical or wrong.

On the other side of the fence, you have hpc which is as you say a much bigger bag of with a diverse views but on the whole its a group that seems to think prices are absurdly high (virtually everywhere) and that prices need to crash 30-80% for 'sanity' to return. I suspect your mr pizza are an extreme of that club. You are more than welcome to stay and put your views and arguments across but your posts like the one above are worthless so at least try to have a discussion or debate.

Good post Cells. We cross swords a fair bit on ideas but you do strike me as a decent person.

What is your opinion of hard working families who knuckled down to save a large deposit and saw working hard as not being enough, places just got further out of reach?

What is your opinion of the people on this board who have actively expressed delight at the 2008 crash and how profitable it has been for them?

What is your opinion of these same people who have expressed hope for another crash so they can profit further?

Certain posters on this board, yourself for example, are actually the same people as those on HPC that you despise, just on the other side of the bet.

Well homeownership is not for everyone. It's a sad but true fact. It's always been hard to buy a house, just as it's always been hard to buy a Ferrari. But Ferraris ownership is not for everyone. Myself included.

It could be for 85% of households (with something like 5% social and 10% private rental)

However to get to that would need a truly massive sell off in social homes and a big cut in the transaction costs of selling/buying homes.

Without those two factor I dont think we can get back above 65% home-ownership and we may well tend towards 55% in the years to come

He says to several MSE regulars, at best.

Just put two posts on HPC in the last 24 hours and had close on 20,000 views :)

There is an audience and movement for a greater moral right than your small tiny little group :rotfl:

I don't bother with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. and if Google could see this forum I wouldn't bother here either. What's the big deal about shouting at the internet and getting excited about adding to the noise?

If you're passionate about house prices being too high posting about it here or on HPC won't make a blind bit of difference especially as none of your posts are about house prices anyway.

    Don't be a stranger.

I think some people, who probably can't cope well with real life, or get on well with other people face to face, tend to seek refuge in the internet. I think most on here just treat it as a bit of fun, and don't take it too seriously. There used to be a poster on here called chucky that also that that approach (not taking it too seriously, I mean), although I suspect that he might still be around.

I ask that perhaps you look at it an think, perhaps it's easier to not take it too seriously when you've already benefited from the system. I think a lot of people who do take it seriously feel quite [strike]marginalised[/strike]screwed over.

You must (how could you not?) know fine well who I am talking about, I'm very surprised that you are now actually defending him, especially after you actually advised me to put him on ignore!

    Oh, wait, what?

I completely didn't read that as talking about a specific person, apologies.
