Aberdeen! It's where Hamish lives!
A bloke off of the Internet. I've rented for two decades and Hamish's house has gone up by 200% but has recently fallen by 5%.

The one major problem I have with most of you guys and your faux arguments, indignant moaning and the constant need to suggest the hypocritical profound statements in one particular type of post you claim to constantly find after so much hard work.
The fact is on a site like HPC there is a bias on the falling of house prices, nobody denies this. The reasons range from unfairness, greed, priced out, gambling, speculation, shortage of housing, the list is endless and in so many ways some of them are not to dis similar to you lot.
You also have people who have never been able to afford, can and won't, people who sold to rent in 2005 and late 2015 and some in this middle years, parents who love their kids, again the list goes on.
Now I could stomach the views of a lot more on this board if they would at least be honest enough to admit that they shout down any argument on the good house price falls could achieve, right or wrong, simply because they would benefit from it and they really do not careless what creed, circumstances, sexual orientation or moral stance the critic is.
Basically stop hiding behind a stereotypical HPC poster as there is not one along with the 100'000's if not millions of critics of high house prices.
There are roughly a dozen or so posters on this board who try and undermine views using the oldest and sickest method of all, and that is to dehumanise people in order to cancel out an argument. Poster on HPC are probably no more bitter, angry, stupid, brighter, delusional, hypocritical or any other name you would like to tag them with than anyone else.0 -

The difference between house price crash wishers and normal people and landlords is that normal people don't really care or think about this stuff. Landlords think prices will be flat or grow modestly and are happy with anything but falling prices (and even when pries are falling they don't get angry about it). The crash wishers though are not happy with flat or modest falls in prices. They need 30 to 80% off and every month prices go up they get angrier and blame more and more of society
And the magnitude in the change needed is why the crash wishers will always be wrong and will always be on the margins of society.
If I were you I would do them a favour and post that those that live in the north or Midlands have nothing to complain about that prices are cheap and affordable and that they should probably buy now or risk another decade in the wilderness.0 -

If your posts were based on reasonable dialogue with others, instead of rants, people might have more time to interact with useful discussion. Acting like a rabid dog does you no favours whatsoever. Try follow the mantra, be nice to other moneysavers, and you won't go far wrong.0 -

Amen to that!, buying your own home is the best moneysaving act you could ever do. I'm bewildered that there are people out there who claim they can afford to buy, but still choose to rent0 -

Crashes are a bad thing that impoverish everyone.
Periodic house price corrections are to be expected.
Long term player scare little about either.
What's wrong with pointing any of that out? Do so on HPC and you get banned. I know, I've tried.0
