Quite frankly, some of the legalese is unmitigated tosh. They will have seen it 100s of times before and have you down as a CM Christian. On what basis in law do you think that you can cancel a contact to park that is over and done with.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
  • What's a CM Christian? Tosh or not it worked.

Where's the diplomacy in your post? We're supposed to be supporting and assisting each other on here. In future maybe post before the sun has passed the yard arm.

A CM Christian is a devoted follower of Coupon Mad, a disciple who hangs on her every word without questioning it.

I do not come on here to mediate in international disputes, you will get no diplomacy from me. If you act like a pillock I will call you a pillock. If robust debate is not your thing, find a pink fluffy board to which to flitter.

  • What is it you'd like to debate? The facts are 1) I sent them the letter above and 2) they cancelled the charge.
I do not know if there is any basis in law on which to cancel this contract. I do know that in this instance, in this car park it is patently unfair to fine £100 after 3 hours parking. It is on that basis I will appeal, argue, dispute and expostulate robustly until they give in or someone with actual authority tells me to pay up.

I would very much like to debate CM's wording wrt "dropping hands" and the cancellation of fulfilled contracts.

The dropping hands offer is nonsense, PPCs must have seen it hundreds of time yet, AFAIAA, not one has taken it up. Wrt to other, there has been much discussion on here, but no-one has produced any evidence that it is possible to cancel these contracts. Some say it is, others that it is not.

The fact that this formula has been used so many times, makes it obvious to a PPC that the parker is copying and pasting something which it is quite likely they do not understand.

    Ah Quentin, still trying to get yourself noticed, and still no apology;
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
  • All you say may be true. I think the take away from this exercise is that a response such as mine identifies me as a royal pain in the behind and therefore not worth the bother. A win is a win.

    Question to swallace78 -

Hi, what address did you send this letter to?

I'm in a similar situation to you - I did not realise that parking restriction was enforced, spent around £1000 on the day - in various shops, and for lunch - only to be treated to a parking charge, ,over a month later!!!

Apparently I was 15 minutes over the 3 hour alloted time. And my parking charge is conviently sitting at £160 right now.

    Thieves!

    Many thanks!

If you did not have a ticket on the car but only received a letter over a month later then as keeper you cannot be held liable for any parking charge. Read the Newbies Sticky thread & please start your own thread for personalised advice.
