I am with BT, and have tried several numbers this morning, and they ALL said 30p per minute. I have told everyone I know who I put on to 18866 in case they hadn't realised. It just show how important it is to have the tariff message - you could easily run up a bill of ££££££££££££s without realising.

If you read post 29 you will see that 18866 will be sorting out any over charged calls ;)

    Hi guys

Could anybody who's still having problems (either getting the 30p message, or checking their online bill and seeing it billed at 30p) let us know on here. Hopefully call18866's message means it's sorted, but you never know!

As a result of the alert, I too looked at my online account BUT, forgive me for being think, but the online bill shows calls made up to a date in April when the account was due. How is it possible to see an accurate up-to-date list, ie calls made till today ?.

Sorry, I've found it. I had not noticed the section "unbilled calls", and no, our calls have not been 30p a min.

OK I've left a message (i just have a mobile number). Hopefully it will call back soon.

Can people keep checking - i've tried and i get the 0p/min.

    Some questions

    A. Are you being charged 30p even if it says 0p
    B. Is the 30p/min message still there?
    C. When you're being charged 30p/min is this just via the 18866 dial in number or are you using the full dial number?

I have tried to access their site to check my invoice several times this morning but the site is down.

Point taken! but I'm on a very slow computer today. When I wrote that, there were only 28 posts written! I still maintain that having the tariff message protects against nasty surprises if they do put the price up for some reason.

Update on the 18866 Website under 'Report a Fault'

UPDATE fault 12 May - 30p UK calls
Unfortunately a fault has caused UK calls to be temporarily priced at 30p per minute. Obviously this is incorrect as we aim to be a price fighter! The fault has been rectified and all calls will be rebilled at the correct price! So there is no need to email us at this moment in time as all calls made at the incorrect price will automatically be reimbursed!

    Clearly a system problem!

EDIT: Sorry posted before I saw post 29!!!

    I've been Money Tipped!
I just tried and it gave me zero pence per minute announcement so all seems well at 18866 now.:j

My wife called me at work today and she said that the charge was 30p a minute, but I've just used it to make a call and it was 0p per minute. May be just a glitch in the system.
