Personally I can't see that West Way are selling fakes- more likely Caitlinsmum got one from a bad batch. :( What a shame really- i love my Emus and considering that they aren't cheap, you would expect better quality control.

I think that's probably the case. So please PANIC NOT, everyone.

CaitlinsMum - Your Emus, did they come wrapped in emu tissue paper and with a key-ring thing tied to the shoe (with a fluffy piece of sheepskin with Emu embossed on it)? Mine from Amazon had this and I thought it was a great idea- maybe fakes don't have this?

Yes they did have all those things.
That's also how my Amazon ones arrived.

The ones I received yesterday from West-way that I ordered with the 25% discount code are fine. No damage whatsoever and the quality seems very good. I have worn them today for the first time and am very happy with them.

I hope those of you that are waiting get your orders soon and that they are good quality ones.

Azure. I'm pleased that yours are ok & you are happy with them.
  • I think it's a bit of a shame that everyone thinks I might be pulling a fast one with the boots from Xile :(

Basically I work in central london and the chances of me getting a pair here are slim to none. I am also a smart shopper when it comes to buying online (being 25 I am part of the online shopping generation and only ever do my grocery shopping on tesco.com!)

I used this thread so much when trying to find some genuine boots that were in stock from a reputable retailer (as there are lots of "non-Ugg" websites on this thread like Emu etc) like many other people do I am sure.

I thought that people would find it helpful that I recommended Xile when my order was delivered next day and that the boots were only sold at RRP also, therefore they're not ripoff merchants like Shudoo for example (don't they sell theirs at £130?!).

If you don't trust my recommendation that's fine but I just thought I would be helpful to others as I found much of my advice from this site- it's nice to give something back.

Also, with regards to the people picking up the phone in the Xile shop- how on earth are they meant to know who "deckers" are though, lol, 17 year old shop assistants?!!! like someone else mentioned, there is no mention of "deckers" on a pair of Ugg Australia boots.

anyway i am out, off to the South of France in my gorgeous Cardy's- sleet is expected over the next few days :D I'll be careful not to get them wet!!

I don't think anyone thought that you were pulling a fast one, please don't think that.

This thread is all about letting others know where they got their boots from & where they know they can get genuine boots to pass on the info to others.
It's also to inform others of your experiences, good or bad.
Warning others from sites they know are selling fakes before they too get ripped off.
A lot of the time it's getting rid of Spam posters.
It's about, all things Ugg & sharing that.

You had a good experience & chose to share it here. That's great. Your information added to the threads wealth of Knowledge.
Someone else went down the same route as you, got so far & decided to go no further. They made an informed decision as to where they would be happiest purchasing from. That's also great.

But without this thread & it's valuable info, others would not be as informed & go & purchase that Duff pair. Not only that, have trouble getting refunded.
A member here recently was going to be out of pocket by around £50 because she got some boots that were not the quality they should have been.

Hope you don't get those cardys wet. I had mine stood on by my 6 yr olds muddy school shoes today. Luckily no damage done. They are lovely but you get no protection from peeps standing on your toes!
  • Well mine have arrived and I think they're ok but they are very big on the feet and a bit tight on the calf (I must be a funny shape!) so I think they're going back.

I've not tried mine on so do not know how they fit.

They are happy to refund,so you should have no problem.
  • Hey Phunkles don't feel bad. It's not the website .
It's the boots I'm not happy with. Perhaps they are just a pair that slipped through the quality control tests.
I am going to get some more boots but I'm going to purchase some genuine Aussie Made boots.
I'm going to spend a couple of days doing some research before I decide where they are coming from,I'm not willing to pay Deckers prices so will look for an Aussie company..
    hi there,
i got 2 pairs off uggs (not deckers) from jumbo ugg .com last year and they have been great. i had the classic tall and they are still thick and soft and hard wearing and around £88.00 delivered. my 3rd pair are the canterburys supertread , under £60.00 delivered. i think that why i'm a little disappointed with my new deckers uggs cos i did expect more for the price.
please dont think i'm sticking my nose in, just wanted to offer you an opinion,
i guess it's personal choice at the end of the day, good luck

My long black Emus from Westway arrived today and i'm very pleased with them. I also got some short chestnut ones last week from Amazon and they're the same quality, hope that reassures anyone who has ordered form Westway.
    Slightly worn out mum to 3 (DS1 May 03, DS2 Feb 05, DD1 Feb 08). When i grow up i think i'll become a UN Peace keeper....

    That's great news.
    .
  • I just got my long Emus from Westway today. I'm a little disappointed comparing them to the Uggs I already have.

I would say they are good value for the money so don't worry about that but they are not as good as my Uggs.

The sheepskin inside the Uggs is definitely thicker, more comfortable, warmer etc that whatever is inside the Emus. I think it's Merino wool inside the Emus and that is definitely thinner and doesn't feel as warm and comfortable.

I am going to return mine as after having Uggs, they don't compare in terms of the lining.

So after trying, sorry Uggs are still miles better.
