  • Just a thought for posters worried about variations in Uggs bought from reputable companies such as Shudoo - as the boots are made in China, pobably in their thousands, there are bound to be slight variations - does anyone know, for example, if they are made in one or several factories? Natural dies can also vary. Many moons ago I worked for both a fashion company and later a fabric company - both 100% legit. and the garments/fabrics that were imported from the far east (in those days not China, Macau I think) often had variations between batches - my dad was a director of a leather and suede clothing company, again very reputable - they once supplied a leading mail order catalogue company (this was pre internet and tv shopping my many years) who sent back garments in hundreds due to dye variations - so, to get to the point, if you know a company to be reputable, I wouldn't worry at all. I do sometimes wonder though, how many of the so called 'fakes' are actually made in the same factories of the same sheepskin - that used to happen all the time in my day - a high end designer company would use the same factories as a far cheaper company, and often only an expert could really have told the difference (apart from price that is!).

I hope this gives some reassurance - and I have no connection with Shudoo or any company selling Uggs - I work for a local authority!

oh my god how many websites are there offering cheap uggs!!! does anyone no of any decent ones ? the only ones i have found are australiauggshop.com and stepintostyle.co.uk these look like the genuine thing ! has anyone used them yet ?

No & hopefully they will not!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you feel confident enough that they are real then why don't you buy them???
Others have already told you that they look to be dodgy.
We are getting better here at spotting the dodgy sites & I feel that most folk here would not, after researching places like the ones you quote touch them with a barge pole.
How the owners of these sites sleep at night is beyond me. Taking hard earned money off unsuspecting folk believing they are purchasing the genuine article.
  • How Many have received their Emu's from West-Way that ordered with the 25% code earlier this week please.
I have & am not happy.
They are no way the quality of the Emus that I purchased from Amazon.
    They are going back!!!!!
  • Hi The Londoners - I am strongly suspecting that my 'fake' Deckers Ugg Boots, ordered from China, may actually be 'real' as you suggest! I have taken them into two authorised Ugg retailers and asked them to verify if my boots are fake and having examined them closely, they are convinced they are real?!
I don't want to give anyone false hope, but honestly, these Uggs are identical. I won't identify the site I bought them from, just in case, but it could be that they were manufactured in the same factory... where does the Deckers sheepskin come from, is it shipped to China from Australia?

Thanks for that information, that's very interesting.
I've been thinking about the different qualities in the various brands too.
I've just received some Emus & they do not compare to the ones I have.

I wonder whether the boots that are now being made in such high volumes in factories in China if the standards are being compromised in any way.
Are they no longer being made in the traditional Aussie way using Grade A twinfaced sheepskin as the Original Australian Uggs were made?

    Just a thought!!
  • nah sorry this site looks fake to me! the prices are way to cheap, if it looks too good to be true...it usually is!
whyon earth would a buisness sell Ugg boots that cheap...coz they are fakes they make for a tenner a pair!
    Hi Foxymum

By quoting this post, the link in the quote for the dodgy site remains active so people can still use it.
If you edit your post you can delete the link by erasing it, then just typing the name in normal text. Otherwise this place could get innocent unsuspecting customers from it & they do not look genuine. Then we'll have more posts by people saying they have been had!!

Just thought I'd bring your attention to it.

I did not realise this this until Chamleon pointed it out the other day.
    Thanks Chameleon.

    Nooooo!!

After two days of owning my UGGs, I've ruined them :(
There's a big wet patch on one side on one of my boots and even after a few hours, it's black (the boots are chocolate)! There is a LOT of water on them :(

Please help, I care too much about my UGGs :o

Think I am going to order a pair of Santana Mika boots as well as Ugg boots - they are sheepskin lined, look like Ugg type suede, but are WATERPROOF! My mum has a pair and she goes for walks in hers then rinses them under the tap!

    Are you sure about that?

The ones I've seen are made from suede and faux fur, certainly no mention of sheepskin

Also, the lining is water resistant not waterproof ;)

Oh no! Don't say that! :o

I'm really worried now - I still haven't got my Brontes that I ordered on Monday - can I ask what's wrong with your's? Do you think they're fakes? How do they compare with your Amazon ones?

Sorry for bombarding you with questions btw!

    xxxx

No comparison with my Amazon ones Im afraid.
They are not at all well made. I cannot accuse them as being fake without proof & I am not an expert on Genuine Emu's, I have just compared them with the ones I have.
The sole is stuck on one of them crooked. There is glue squidging from the joins. There is glue on the suede. I could go on!!!!
I'm going to go for a refund. I have phoned them & they assure me that of all the other Emu's they have sold they have not had problems with. So maybe mine are just a 'bad of the bunch' pair. They are fine about a refund.

    Hope yours are ok.
