I've been considering buying some Uggs all winter and was wondering are they wide fitting?I have fat calves and find it hard to get zip up boots to fit me

I wonder if anyone of you Ugg experts could help? I bought my (adult -27)daughter some Uggs for Christmas 2007 - I got them from the UK section of the Ugg Australia website and paid £140 plus postage. She wore them a lot but not for copious walking!! but in early Feb2008 she noticed a tiny hole where her big toe was  . I contacted the Scottish firm that supplied them and they said to send them back for inspection - they promptly returned the boots and said it was down to "customer/accidental damage"!!!!! Anyway I wrote to the MD and they relented and sent a new pair of boots. I think they did it as a gesture of goodwill -which I appreciate! She has worn the original ones for now as the hole was only tiny (but one has now appeared on the other boot)................but my question is........ how can she avoid getting a hole in the new ones?? She always wears cotton socks with them and her toe nails are kept trimmed.
Any advice would be gratefully received.0 -

Also, canterbury boots are slightly wider around the calf if you didn't mind not having actual uggs and would prefer abit more room, i've got some and they are a slightly bigger fit than uggs.
Hope that helps0 -
Just remember that you can haggle with customes over their imposed duty. I bought something from the US via ebay and they tried to charge £16 (£8 duty and £8 for the Royal Mail). I argued that as the actual price was les than £18 I did not have to pay duty. I was refunded the cost within 2 weeks.
ergo if they charge duty just remember its on the actual price and should not include postl cost which is duty free!!
