By the way, has anyone noticed uggs being removed from ebay? I was watching loads of the pewter uggs and they've all disappeared.

Hi, where did u get em and what's the sizing like - is it the same as standard uggs?

    Thanks - Etyx

I got them from uggsdirect.co.uk, I went down a size as with normal uggs and they fit perfectly.

As for Hartings, I think it's just the UGG Australia brand they've stopped sending, not the others.

  • Any other website's that are in use? Hartings have just stopped sending ugg's internationally and rei do not have any on their webpage?

    I noticed this as well.

    wonder why.

think I might just go for Canterburys because the statement on their website says they make products for Deckers..I think

  • Well I got my response from Paypal concerning my dispute with https://www.uggfootwear-direct.com Looks like everyone is getting the same answer from the robots that work at Paypal. Basically Paypal decided the claim in my favour but were “unable to retrieve any funds” this seems to be because the seller has emptied his account... As far as I know the website is still up and and many people each day must be buying from them, does that mean Paypal allow this con man to log in, transfer his money to his bank account then withdraw it all every day? At the moment the message im getting is that if you want to get rich quick, just set up a website with Palpal, take the money and don’t send anything because nobody will stop you...

Paypal end by kindly reminding us that they actually do not guarantee to refund you of anything you buy with Paypal! This is a very different idea to what everyone I know thinks about Paypal... What is most annoying in the ‘we couldn’t retrieve any funds’ response? Well the fact that Paypal make millions and cant compensate anyone.

Im really confused in how Paypal with all these complaints has not suspended the uses account, why are they supporting a criminal? Oh yes I forgot they get their percentage of all funds sent to him! Anyone else in the same position and what should we do next?
  • hey the site I was wondering about was hartings.

their canterbury boots look good but I was wondering do I need to go up a size?

kiwi sheepskins also look the bizzle.

    any reports folks?

I've read some good stuff on here about kiwis.
hi Princess Jane, i bought the canterburys from Hartings and they are identical to uGgs, however they do come up slighty smaller than uggs, i am normally a 6.5 and would get a U.K 6 in uggs but i got the U.K 7 in canterburys and they fit the same as the uggs 6. The top of the leg is slighty wider in the canterburys which i think makes them sit better because they don't slouch so much.
In all i would say that canterburys are well worth the money because apart from the label you really can't tell the differance, mine are actually better quality than the one pair of uggs that i've had, they arrived in 12 days (and that was just after xmas) and no customs
    Hope this helps
  • Thanks for that!

basically I want some Canterbury's and some cardy Uggs.

can't afford either at the mo so plenty of time to decide I guess.

Yes they are a scam sorry to hear you have been a victim. They were previously running under the name uggfootweardirect. There are a lot of people who have posted in this thread who have been conned. You might want to read back a few pages to see how they all got on.

Firstly you need to log with Paypal as item not received. I am not sure how many have actually got any money back as paypal only pays if funds are in the receivers account.

If you paid by credit card contact the card issuer and see if they cover you as there is little chance Paypal will refund it.

    Good luck.

Are you talking about the uGg Australia brand?

I have seen them for sale at other markets for approx £80, the ones I have seen are good counterfeits, but not worth parting with that kind of money for. Without sounding spiteful I doubt they are real.

My genuine Talls from bootbarn with a 20% discount code, escaped customs charges and cost me £80 so it pays to look around, the price of fakes is shocking and I even said to my husband when we saw them its bang out of order that people are buying them as genuine for £80 when they can actually get the real thing for the same or just over that price. And I'm talking about tall boots too, the cheapest short boots I got this year were about £56 with a discount code.

How to compare without a genuine one next to it, fakes are normally suede as opposed to sheepskin so the outer material is thicker and has a different finish the legs are normally a looser fit. The label isnt a sure way to tell anymore as they now have fakes labelled with made in china but is worth looking at. The soles are different. The care card in a genuine pair shold be rippled paper not smooth. The box should have a completely lift off lid with the ugg website address on the edge of the lid in italic style writing (this years uggs have this new box) the stickers on the box do have a certain style again would need to see pics.

Dont be fooled by traders claiming they are authorised to sell Uggs, this would never happen on a market. They dont get genuine knock off boots just easily accessible counterfeits. And with the complete sell out of uGgs every year its highly unlikely anyone would still have old stock laying around. And I bet the seller has plenty of them available too, even though genuine stockists are out or low on stock.

The easiest way is to see close up details of the boots, box and labels. But unless you PM them you are not allowed to post pics on here. Or you could look at some of the reviews on ebay for pics.

If she is happy with them and is happy at spending that much without the hunt or wait for genuine pair (stock is low right now) and they look like the real thing without inspecting them is it worth spoiling her day by finding out they are fakes? They would be unlikely to refund them if she went back.

    Hope this helps.
