So unsure why the low score?
Simply because it's fictitious. It's like an attractiveness score. Clearscore likes blondes, Experian prefers brunettes. It doesn't make either one better.0 -
I am annoyed to find that Clearscore are letting other people such as HDD Barclays search my credit score without my approval. I don't have a Barclaycard and I am not interested really in obtaining one. How can one stop this?0

What does this even mean? No one looks at your credit score.
Are you saying there has been a search on your file by Barclays? Hard or soft search?0 -

FYI: Clearscore doesn't let anyone search your file - it only reports (some of) the data which is in your file for you to see. They are only a messenger hoping to make some money from their recommendations based on the information passed to them from a CRA..Warning: In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

.... as Capital One has cancelled my free monthly service with Equifax. Must admit I am very impressed with this service, and the fact that it is free is even better!
Easy to sign-up, really clear information and very intuitive. First impressions are better than Equifax, as there's a million click-throughs to get the relevant info with them.
And yes you do get offers, but it seems Clearscore are being responsible in that you have to click into a separate area of the site to view them, I didn't feel bombarded with ads etc.
Keep up the good work Clearscore!0 -
They display my address on every entry in the odd format mentioned earlier in this thread (post town listed before neighbourhood) so obviously I'm not the only one with this issue. So I'm very disappointed that when I queried it with them (as well as the fact they don't have me on the electoral roll) first of all they replied with a copy and paste completely irrelevant to either issue. Then they asked me to officially dispute both problems. Why not just admit they have a problem with their system instead of wasting my time?0

So I wanted to do a check where there were no catches no fee's etc. So I gave clearscore a try and i really like the layout etc and its easy to understand. The only downside it did get one thing wrong saying I wasn't part of the electoral register which I am. Other than that i give it a big thumbs up! :T0

Just registered with Clearscore. Have only been back in the country for about 30 months, and have moved from a rented home to owned home in that time but I also gave our address (for 8 years) prior to moving abroad. Security questions were asking about taking out car loans, mortgages, credit cards with X,Y,Z companies from between 20 and 8 years ago. The start dates and company options didn't seem to fit with anything I may have had so I had to select "none of the above". Mortgage and car loan were paid off in full and accounts closed before we moved abroad. Same with credit cards except one card which was paid off but left open and is the only CC I have. It's through the bank I have my current account with and that name wasn't on the list for the credit card question. It did ask a question about a previous address of more than 10 years ago and I was sure about that! After all of that it said it couldn't match me to my current address, yet everything is registered to this address and we've been here for a year. Have no loans or mortgage. I've had problems trying to get a report from experian too. Spent 5 years in the USA building up a great credit score and had to start all over again on return here.Never had bad credit in my life. If it's the same as in the USA, not having a mortgage is a bad thing for your credit rating and as I live on a small pension and savings (from downsizing housewise ) don't suppose that's going to help either. Was just checking as wanted to try and get a small mortgage for an investment property we were thinking of buying to renovate and sell. Disappointing.0

I would definitely not recommend using ClearScore for an accurate credit score.
I had Experian a year ago and my credit score was nearly perfect, I decided to check up on it earlier this evening but instead of paying £14.99 just to check I searched this website for a free credit score check. I went into ClearScore and nearly had a heart attack when it said my credit score was 357 out of 700. I then decided to just pay the 14.99 for peace of mind on Experian and there my credit score was 999 out of 999, one of them is completely incorrect- I just hope it is ClearScore!!0 -

I guess that's one way to seduce people out of £14.99
I hope the "peace of mind" was worth it. :rotfl:Warning: In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.
