Goodbye to the UK as we know it

So you believe that the first country that these refugees arrive in should accommodate them and foot the bill?
Are you happy for Greece and Italy to do this as long as they don't land one of their boats in Dover?
*Sigh* completely misread what I was saying. EU Rules state this, not me. If there little boats land in Dover or sodding Blackpool, then yes they can claim Asylum here and I would not have an issue with that. The point is these refugee's are running from war and therefore should be happy to take asylum in whatever country they reach first, but they are not happy with that and want to make demands on where they go. That's not claiming asylum, that is being choosy!0 -

Makes me sad to think I live in country with people with views like yours OP.
You really are a little Englander. You do realise you were just lucky to be born in this country.
The fact that you put Economic Migrants really shows how uninformed you really are. These people are humans being fleeing some of the worst attrocities imaginable. We have a duty to help them, after all it was our government who had a hand in causing the instability in their countries.
If the UK as you know it is one that has a undercurrent of racism ('I'm not racist but.....' = you are racist), a closed door policy to anyone who doesn't conform to a minorities ignorant tick list then yes, good bye and don't return that UK.
The decent people in this country are those that are supporting all those people in calais, those donating to charities that are helping those people - you are not a decent person.

It's simply not possible for the nearest country to take all these people.
Why do you think Germany have agreed to take so many?
None of these people will arrive in Germany first.
Maybe a proportion of the people who are trying to get to the UK are not true refugees but more economic migrants.
And I have a very different attitude to those two very disparate groups.
However, it seems that some people tar both groups with the same brush.BlueEyedGirl wrote: »Well then, they need to get better boats!
Talk about NIMBY attitude.0 -
If we don't support Greece and Italy with solving this problem all they will do is make them Italian or Greek citizens. This makes them an EU citizen and they can legally travel to any EU country they wish.
Besides the UK sound like they are taking the ones from the refugee camps not the ones that arrive in Europe.0 -
If you're that affected by it, then I presume you'll be offering a room or three to them then? Perhaps even offering to sleep on the couch and let them have your bed?
No? Thought not.0 -

No? Thought not.
Nobody is being asked to take anyone in to their house or being asked to offer a room to these refugees.
If you're so affected by the homeless people that you refer to in your original post who are already living in the UK - how about you offering them a room in your house?
Or even offer them your own bed?
Thought not.0 -

I am sad that some misguided people want to encourage potential terrorists to our country, all because they are "decent" people with better morals than those who have concerns for the future of europe.
It was only in february, that ISIS announced they would flood Europe with "refugees" and now people like you welcome them with open arms, all because a cute kids father was reckless and irresponsible.0 -

I wonder if you will be saying this when those members of ISIS who are calling themselves refugee's and claiming asylum starting bombing our cities and towns.0
