Probably get deleted but what the hell. Just read we're spending £1 billion pound on economic migrants, sorry 'refugees', to bring them to the UK. Meanwhile we have homeless, hundreds of thousands of people living in poverty, nhs falling apart and already short of money, schools suffering a lack of places and funds and qualified teachers, lack of housing sending costs soaring, and here we are a tiny island taking thousands more.

Thank you to the media for using a picture of a boy to guilt trip everyone in Europe to accept them, even though the majority of these immigrants are young men who can't be arsed to fight for their country, to make it better and secure the future for their children, something our grand parents did. And rather than go to a safe Muslim country where they would integrate a lot better, with far less impact and cost, they're being settled here. Wouldn't be surprised if the referendum was cancelled, Merkel runs the UK so probably on the phone to Dave right now.

I have 2 young children and I'm terrified to see what sort of country they'll be growing up in, its all downhill from here.
I don't think you can class ALL of these people as 'economic migrants'.
    Some really are refugees.

Do you think that the UK should reject everybody regardless of which of the above categories they fall into?

Thankfully another poster has already provided the statistical breakdown.

    It's:

    40% refugees
    40% benefit tourists
    20% terrorists.

'JD' talked a lot of sense, if you want to label it 'racist' because you can't discuss it, or that you on a 'white-guilt' trip, fine.

But, reality is - Saudi Arabia is not taking any!? The Gulf States are not taking any!? And guess what Kuwait aren't taking any either!?
I hope I'm wrong on that but I haven't seen any news about any such offers.
Now, I'm not aware of any other prosperous Muslim countries, where they would more easily adapt to.

So far Germany is accepting them, I wonder how long for?

How will you feel if they have a priority to housing, when someone in your family is already waiting ... ?

    I totally agree with you.
I am a Muslim and makes me really sad and disappointed, that not a single Muslim country offered to help or accepted them.
And yet I see them outside Harrods and Knightsbridge splashing their gold / white diamond cars, which they bring with them when they come here every summer for holidays.

Germany accepted them from the pressure of Brussels and so did UK.
We people tend to think with our hearts. But sometimes we have to take hard steps which may seem offensive/difficult/bad but for the long run they are actually advantageous.

We already have job problems here, as mentioned above NHS is crippling down.
And I know that for fact because I work for NHS.

So they all will be on benefits with houses allotment.

Sorry if I made any one of you angry or sad.

    Where's your proof ?
According to the other poster, that was the 'word on the street', and therefore, a load of rubbish.

The majority of Syrian refugees are in Iran, Turkey, Jordan and Lebanon. How does this fit with your narrative ?

If you count the word on the street in Hungary as relayed to me by my Hungarian acquaintance as 'statistics'.

The value of the statement is the qualitative one that this is not an influx of people with homogeneous aspirations and they need to be dealt with more or less individually.

    That's good.
Did not hear or see this news.
    Apologies, if this is true.

So their borders are open and are welcoming all ?
Official statements by government ? to let them come in ?

Word on the street have some say in it, otherwise it wouldn't be on the street.

    Completely agree with your post.

I am normally the first to say 'help others' but this refugee's crisis has gone too far. They are stomping through Europe without ID / Passports etc. They are refusing to claim asylum in the first country they arrive in. Surely they cannot afford to be picky, if all they want is a safe place to live to shelter from the war in their own country.

Meanwhile here in the UK we cut benefits and attack the disabled and vulnerable. We have British citizens who are living on the streets. Benefit sanctions for stupid reasons. Families having to rely on food banks. The NHS is falling to pieces. However, it is ok for Mr Cameron, as long as he's happy...

Why anyone would want to come and live here is beyond me!
