The majority of Syrian refugees are in Iran, Turkey, Jordan and Lebanon. It is only a relatively small percentage who have come to the EU.
I also don't see why they should be forced to go to a Muslim country. There is more to a person than what religion they are. There are a very large number of Muslims in the EU. Perhaps these should be sent to the Muslim countries as well?
Most Muslins in the EU where born there.0 -
That's good.
Did not hear or see this news.
Apologies, if this is true.
So their borders are open and are welcoming all ?
Official statements by government ? to let them come in ?
I've said my piece already, but a UN/EU/Charity funded refugee camp is completely different to giving someone housing, schooling, access to state funded healthcare and money.0 -
Word on the street have some say in it, otherwise it wouldn't be on the street.
If you mean that behind the rumour there may be some truth, then indeed. However the person that posted those figures has absolutely no idea if they are true or not and therefore shouldn't go round spreading potentially damaging misinformation.0 -

I am normally the first to say 'help others' but this refugee's crisis has gone too far. They are stomping through Europe without ID / Passports etc. They are refusing to claim asylum in the first country they arrive in. Surely they cannot afford to be picky, if all they want is a safe place to live to shelter from the war in their own country.
Meanwhile here in the UK we cut benefits and attack the disabled and vulnerable. We have British citizens who are living on the streets. Benefit sanctions for stupid reasons. Families having to rely on food banks. The NHS is falling to pieces. However, it is ok for Mr Cameron, as long as he's happy...
Why anyone would want to come and live here is beyond me!
Are you happy for Greece and Italy to do this as long as they don't land one of their boats in Dover?0 -

Yes, Lebanon has taken in over 1 million Syrian refugees over the past five years - although currently they have suspended registration of new refugees as a country with only 4 million people to start with, they're struggling with resources - bare in mind Lebanon is a war affected country itself.
There is around 1.9 million Syrian refugees in Turkey, 250k in Iraq, 600k in Jordan, and 150k in Egypt. These countries currently have no restrictions on providing facilities for refugees.0 -
Please take your small town views elsewhere.
Why? Why should you seek to censor opinions with which you don't agree.
I am in full support of the sentiments of the original poster but this thread will no doubt be deleted soon since we are not allowed to point out the negative consequences of unlimited immigration.0 -
These people are supposed to claim asylum in the first safe country. Instead, they continue through Euroupe to find the countries which they prefer to go to. This isn't asylum, it becomes a market. Once in Europe, these people select the country in which they will reap the most benefit.
We are a small island. We simply cannot accommodate everybody who wants to come here. We don't have the infrastructure.
This problem is a Muslim one and it is for Muslim countries to step up and take these people for whom a Muslim environment will be appropriate for their needs, rather than trying to instil a Muslim culture within Europe.0 -

Around 10% of Syrians are Christian. I assume you are happy if we take them?
In reality the issue has nothing to do with religion.
Just because someone is a Muslim it doesn't meant they will be better off living in Pakistan than the UK.....0 -

Because that's where a lot of these refugees first land.0 -

Turkey alone has 2 million, Jordan and Lebanon have around 1 million each. Plus not all of those people are Muslim, just because they are brown, people just like to assume it.
Honestly, all of those discussions turn into slurs eventually. Noone will change their view nor they will try to educate themselves. So why bother anyway.
NHS, Schools and other cuts are ideological more than anything. So fight against it. It has little to do with money. Refugees don't hide their money in Cayman Islands or force small businesses to close.
On top of it, it was okay to bomb those countries and I'm sure OP wasn't complaining about beloved UK back then.ally.0
