Urgh... Just done an hour in Steptoe's yard and I'm hot, sweaty and cross. I hate gardening and moving to a house with 1.3 acres wasn't a great idea.
Anyway, got lots swept up, bagged and binned. Moved an incredibly heavy pot to a new location (OK, so I rolled it around the patio until it was in situ) and have just had cheese on toast for lunch with Tiny. I'm looking out of my kitchen window and trying not to despair - there are so many trees and plants I've no idea what they are, that I'm wondering if we will be overrun by triffids before I learn what to cut and what to keep.
Post pictures and I'll help you identify themThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Evening everyone :hello:
Missy - hope your insides settled down now
Bossy - pleased to hear they both enjoyed their day at school
LW - enjoy your short break and HAPPY ANNIVERSARY
Pigpen - sorry to hear you so tired and hope you can get back into a better sleep pattern. I found it helped to get off the internet earlier and read for a little while.
dizzy and biscuit - just wondering if you have heard of Land Share (you can Google them). There are thousands of people across the UK who are wanabee gardeners but do not have access to a garden. The scheme helps to match them up with local land-owners (small and large) and they then come and use some of your land, usually mainly for veggies. You make your own arrangements from sharing the produce to them helping you with the rest of your garden. You could also try local garden clubs etc as there may be an older person, no longer able enough to garden themselves but with the knowledge to help you with yours.
CY - hope all good with you atm
Being as I no longer have a RoD I did some other jobs. So after I had done the dailies
all the place dusted top to bottom
all rugs brushed and shaken
all floors swept
linen cupboard tidied
shopping list started
bank accounts checked
all filing done
Thumpin' Thursday - Bathroom / Study Area
Sinks and loos
Bath
Taps - scrub and de scale if needed.
Do you have a fan / air vent? Is it clogged with dusties? Can you reach it with the vacuum nozzle?
Wipe round the back of the sink / loo
Wipe over the screen and antibac wipe the keyboard - when switched off!
Extras:
Collect any towels for laundry
Have a think about your budget for the December festival (don't mention the C word!)
Clean the bathroom floor
Enjoy a well earned cuppa :coffee:
((hugs)), sticks and spoons here if you need some
Hope you all have a super Thursday

I know that feeling well. Only I work from home so the house can look like I've sat in front of the TV all day when in reality I've been busy working at the computerOr days like today when a job I'm doing takes much much longer than I thought, the dog pesters me stupid and I get no where.
So today I've washed up, played with the dog, attempted to make microwave crisps twice but they failed both times, played with the dog who was pestering me, S&S the kitchen, and spent 3 hours hand stitching padding onto one of the dogs harnesses by the time I'd found the material then cut it to size then attached it to the harness then stitched each wrap around in place to stop it moving and causing more harm than good. Tea was a homemade ready meal of lasagne from the freezer. I have no idea where today has gone but thats all I've achieved. I blame AF for being nasty to me again by draining all my energy which was already low due to a sore throat and stinking cold I've had for over a week now.
Thursday, I have to get some laundry done including the ironing. We're out tomorrow evening at an award ceremony at school (DD is getting another science award!) so I need to make sure tea is sorted and I look and feel presentable and ready to leave around 6-6.30 tomorrow night. Dog walk first thing in the morning to check on my friends house, but I have the feeling it'll be a short one if I'm still feeling icky unless DD wants to leave a few minutes early and take a detour on the way to the bus stop. She's the one supposed to be doing it anyway, not me!
Well DDs phone is finally fully charged, my alarms are set and the ones for tomorrow evening are turned off, time to let the dog out then head off to bed. I really hope I can be more productive tomorrow. :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Pigpen - sorry to hear you so tired and hope you can get back into a better sleep pattern. I found it helped to get off the internet earlier and read for a little while.
It is thought the light from the computers/phones etc suppress the production of melatonin because our brains are fooled int thinking it is daylight.
I am usually just sat next to my laptop.. its on and open but I've been to my daughters, knitted a hat and watched 2 episodes of star trek so I'm not really online! .. I refresh the page and catch up and go to bed.. and either lay there for 3 houurs awake or I go straight to sleep and wake up at 2am.. tbf the knitting usually makes me drowsy but even that's not working.. I'm just stressed out of my tiny pea-sized brain .. I've lost just short of 2 stone in 2 months as I am quite literally not eating.. there is so much bad voodoo in my life at the moment
I really need a murder to occur.. sadly no one yet has volunteered.. but I'm still trying.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Dizzy, where in the country are you, if you are sort of close by or on a route I travel, I could pop in for an hour or so and help you get started with the garden / sort out what are weeds etc.
Lunch made
Early shift today, manager has 'promised' no more closes followed by an open, lets see how long that lasts for, it starts next week apparently!!

I'm back from the station drop off.
I've loaded the dishwasher - it was empty and my lazy family pile everything next to the sink. Words are going to be had.
Plan today is to drop a bag of DS3's redundant junior school uniform to a friend.
Walk the dog who is not in my good books.
I need to do a couple of job applications online.
I have to book an appointment for a haircut before the gr0upon voucher expires.
Bathrooms are not too bad so I'll do them and sort out DD2's wardrobe/drawers to find the outgrown bits.
I'm off to shower and do a HHI before the school run.
Wishing all flyers a good day x0 -

Happy Anniversary and Happy Holiday to Mr and Mrs Wolf
Glad the first day at school/back again went well, particularly for the Little Moos and Piglets. Congratulations to your DD on her award, nicki.
I am still plodding on with my boxes, between trying to sort out my noisy computer, doing my vol job, reading for my course, sorting out workmen, and wasting time looking for a bit of paper (re: boiler service) which DH swore the plumber put in his hand but later turned up in said plumber's van  Otherwise the plumber did a grand job of mending dripping shower, bath plug (one of those complicated pop-up ones ), kitchen waste pipes etc. :j
Now the tiler has to come back this afternoon to re-seal the shower because the plumber thinks that's what caused the leak that's ruined the ceiling in the downstairs loo[Note to self - add "Repair and re-paint ceiling" to Toots list]
The computer has got to go back to the technician tomorrow morning on our way out to spend the day with my colleague - Trustees meeting, lunch out for her birthday, sorting new course... It's all go!
Today's list:
- check email and finances - DONE
- update diary
- get bedding in the wash and out on the line while the weather is good
- quick S&S of kitchen including steam mopping floor
- finish this set of resource boxes
- get cash
- choir this evening: early start to collect lots of lovely new music :T
(((Hugs))) spoons and sticks all round, particularly to those who aren't getting enough sleep and parents coping with short-notice inset days  and GWS vibes to all who need them.0 -
Morning!
Weather looks promising here today! Just having a cuppa then will make a start on conservatory which should have been yesterday:o I've got 2.5hrs to myself and I want a HH me time first heheh
Drop off was a bit rushed today - they are at opposite sides of the school and although DD starts 5min earlier it gives barely any time to settle her in then sprint round the back stressing DS out before his day has even begun.
I'll see how we go on but might need to talk to school about it. I could ask a friend if he can wait at the gate and walk round the back with them, some days.
Right. Coffee is cool enough to drink!Bossymoo
Away with the fairies :beer:0
