Well, so since 1st May 2015 Zara had
cruciate ligament surgery on back leg
diagnose of spine problems - 3 spine injections etc etc
broken tooth that needed extraction
eye infection that needed antibiotics
ear infection that needed antibotics
last week Sunday she damaged her other back leg, cruciate again, we are off to FR on the 2nd November

Oh GR, I could cry for you.
How did this last injury happen?0 -
You will qualify for an invite to the the Xmas party soon?
I hope your new insurance term has kicked in now.
I had a dog who was accident prone who evreything seemed to happen to and Petplan paid out much more than I paid them.
My vet said that you get dogs like that. None of my other ones have required as much vet treatment as she did.
Wishing Zara an uneventful recovery.0 -
Thank you.
Zara was just walking, not even running - leg must have got under her and she got up holding the leg up. Had to call neighbours to come out with a towel which we used as a sling under her belly to get her back home, carried her up the stairs. Then Ewa came over in the evening and took Zara to her house as no stairs there.
We have an app at FR this coming MOnday

When my first dog's cruciate went she was swimming in the sea, came out and the leg collapsed under her. Hers had snapped completely.
With Cleo she showed very subtle favouring of her leg when she rose up from lying down but it was very difficult to see. She also knocked down an agility bar when turning at right angles for the next jump. She could jump straight jumps at her normal speed.
My vet was suspicious of her cruciate but could not get a complete diagnosis so referred her to a specialist. He also thought it was her cruciate that was the problem but again it was on the balance of probabilities. At least he had the resources and ability to deal with it if it was something else.
It turned out her cruciate had a tear in it but was not totally torn through , hence the slight symptoms and lack of a definite diagnosis
I now realise that Amber's cruciate was probably tearing over time until it went completely that day.
They do say that if one leg goes there is a 60 % chance of the other going, partly because of the strain put on the good leg while the other leg recovers.
ALL the best for Monday and a smooth recovery for Zara.0
