Oh I've spotted the iron :rotfl: oh well at least I know where it is for when DS2 is making those bead things instead of having to heat a pan up and use that
:rotfl::rotfl:Well I have just been told to put the iron away by DS!!!! Was getting in the way of him playing, so I just had to put it away, what a pity NOT!
Plenty of other stuff to be doing round here anyway so better keep going.Official Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0 -
Things can only get better, can only get better....
(More off key singing from Mermaid)
Gorgeous weather here for a change and OH is poorly. Last night was our wedding anniversary, and we had meal and babysitter booked, but had to drop out at very last minute. I was in my nightie in bed by 9:30 (and not in a good way!)!
Hopefully OH will be better tomorrow, has had headaches for last 3 days (he never gets headaches!) and upset tummy today. Unfortunately he will probably have to work part of tomorrow.
We are going to look at a house tomorrow to see if we want to rent it. It's in right school catchment area, and being in rented accommodation would put us into a very strong position if (when!) another house we like comes up for sale. Drawbacks are that it's a little smaller than we would really like and it's on a busy main road (main route for police, fire engines and ambulances!), and we've never lived on a main road. Plus points are it's in good condition, near to several of our friends, and hopefully it's only going to be for a short time. Will let you know how it goes.
JillD, don't stress about the toiletting. Peer pressure will probably sort him out. When he sees other children getting on with it, he's likely to go with the flow (sorry - couldn't resist!).
Now off to visit elderly grandmother in residential home as she was taken in last week.
Then back to cook tea and OH has promised he'll do his best to get sprogs to bed so I can tidy the office a bit. I have piles of paper on top of piles of books on top of piles of junk. Must get cracking on it.
Hope you're all enjoying the sunshine.

Mermaid.. if it helps, I lived on a main road for years and after a few weeks you don't even notice the noise levels at all.. unless they are exceptional.. my mother is a really light sleeper and they don't even wake her any more! I live opposite a pub now and don't notice the noise of drunkards leaving any more.. unless they are too loud.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

Mermaid sorry to hear your partner has been poorly and all those plans didn't go ahead, hope you manage to have a night together once he's better.
Got to agree with Pigpen, we've lived on a main road and behind a railway line (at the same house) and it didn't bother us, or DS1 who was born when we lived there. Amazed me how quickly we got used to it. I did have to remember no glasses/pots left on the end of the kitchen benches because they would rattle and fall off :rotfl: I live on a bus route now and couldn't tell you what time they go as I only notice if I am looking out of the window.
Well I'm fuming, had a drunk neighbour come round and basically when it came down to it accuse me of being a bad parent because my choices of discipline are different to his. NOT IMPRESSED! I have decided I will speak to him about it and the fact my values may be different to his (like I would never allow my kids to see me drunk or beat my children) when he's not falling all over the place and slurring his words in front of mine and his children! Him screaming his mouth off in front of my kids and swearing on ended up with DS1 self harming, that's another thing I will be having serious words about! DP kept telling me to calm downI'm not having a drunken idiot bad mouthing me or my family when they are far from perfect. I mean his partner gave up her children to social services care rather than seperating from her ex, a man she knew was a paedophile (No that isn't just rumour) Their son saying his Dad has tried to strangle him when asked what the finger marks are around his neck, I can hear them beating them from my house. Now they are trying to tell me I am a bad parent. They can go **** themselves
I will speak to him when he's sober.
Must have been good for me in a way as in rage I have flew through the washing up, cleaned the hob so much it's gleaming and cleaned the inside of the oven (self cleaning still have to do the bottom of it) cleaned top oven, cleaned BBQ ready for Tuesday. Wiped down all of the appliances, cleaned all the benches etc. :rotfL maybe I should get someone to annoy me every day!
Oh and I've found some name labels, those ones with the name embroidered on, that I didn't even know I'd had made for DS1, they're still in the pack and I know I didn't buy them this year. Oh that is bad isn't it, buying so much 'stuff' you don't even know what you've got. Found some iron on ones you write on too.
One day I might be more organised...........

Evening Everyone
More productive day in the Ginger household than yesterday!
Made the malteser bake thingie (and already DS has requested it for his birthday cake!!), moved furniture round in our bedroom (and swept away the dust bunnies found lurking under the drawers in the bed), roast dinner done and dusted, 3 nice photos taken of kids in garden enjoying the sun and just ready to pour myself a chilled glass of wine to complement the left over maltesers!!!
Lil Me - sorry to hear what you're going through - hugs - you sound like a fab parent!
Tomorrow - take the little darlings for a swim and then join in on level 2 tasks, plus start some freezer baking.
Tonight - got some marking to do (paid) and 2 loads of washing.
Best go - the maltesers are calling!!!!!0 -
Oh yeah.. we have a railway line across the road behind the houses.. I forgot about that lol.. shows how often I hear it!!!
Lil_me.. I'd have pasted him from one end of the street to the other.. and if I heard them beating the children I'd be on the phone to SS every 5 minutes.. go give him a kick from me!! Lil-me, I'm with Pigpen - neighbours like that deserve to be shopped frequently to SS.
My Grandmother is still not really able to get herself about, so she's going to be in the residential home for a few more days at least. I'm trying to visit every other day, to stop her getting bored. She's so deaf she can't hear me, but I take the kids and a selection of their toys so that she can watch them play for a while, then she tells me what's been going on. Please shoot me if I ever get that old!
Now off to do ironing, see you on the new thread tomorrow! You only get one go at life, so grab it where it hurts, shake it hard and get everything out of it you can!0 -
Lil_me, your neighbour is a complete W**ker, how dare he come round to your house shouting the odds. You are a complete star and I for one strive to have the kind of patience you demonstrate with your little ones.
Sending you hugs hun!0
