just quickyl, read a few posts , not all.
hev - what a nighmare year you are having, puts blimming everything into perspective not just messy house and garden. Sorry about the christening thingy, would you not consider just having the ceremony and maybe just the immediate family jhave a nice sit down lunch after ? immediate as in you, DH , baby and any other offspring ? If anyone complains , tough. Hope DH is able ti find something he likes. My DH jacked in is job almost 3 years ago to set up his own business. DD was 4 weeks old at the time so I was on mat leave with not a lot of money coming in. Fab timing. We had 2 really hard years, this time last year he nearly gave up to go back to a "proper" job with an actualo salary LOL but we stuck it out and things really turned around for us since Feb this year. His salary is still titchy but at least the business can afford to pay off their startup loan etc. I'm sure he will find something and as you say be much happier into the bargain.

We have been to field to play football - why is it DS will run around like a loony inside but goes all lazy outside  Went to the park for a bit as well.

Have emptied DW and tidied kitchen, and made a start on those labels. Came back on PC to look up label site to see best place to ut sock labels (can you tell I have not had to do this before LOL). Ok off to label 7 pairs of socks then thats all DS stuff done and I am going to be super good and put new DD labels on over DS ones on his old stuff that she is now wearing :T

Oh might have a bite to eat first just realised I am hungry!

    Well done Rach's OH :)

Hope it all works out for you and your DH Hev.

Front grass cut. Washing drying well, I think I'll be able to get it in soon. Toilet, sink and bath cleaned, floors washed.

No more news on bank account but at least they haven't taken any more.

    RIght, just home from work.

had a bit of a rant with my sis on the phone.
Came home to find the kitchen full of breakfast dishes piled ON TOP of the dinner dishes from last night!! (which I didn't do cuz I went to bed early not feeling well..) I had hoped that DH had done the DW, or otherwise DD1 who's still home from school.

    Apparently not..

So I did the kitchen ranting and raving...
And now I'm off to do my tasks for today.

Just a little babytalk to make you giggle..
my 3 year old is potty training and as I helped on the toilet yesterday (she's got this add on little seat for kids that fits on the big toilet) she told me: "That's my toilet seat huh mummy? You don't fit on it because you have a fat bum!"

    thanks darling..

    :D

She has just spit plum juice on my white skirt, so I'm going to try and get that out first, and then I'm off upstairs for a good clean!

    tata!

7ww I hope you can manage to live with your hen. We are too far away in Cumbria or I would have her. There may be a rescue place that can take her if she gets too much. We got four of ours from an animal rescue.

Our meal out last night became a family meal out as DSs decided not to stay out and came to pub to find us. They saw the car! It wasn't in my budget for this month but I do have my emergency fund that was suggested by Lil_me months ago. It became a celebration of all their success and DS3 leaving school and going on to new horizons. We don't know what they will be but he did appreciate the gesture.

:rotfl: ha ha Becca - kids are so true its painfull! My DD1 asked me why I had a fat tummy the other day, told her its cos 2 babies stretched it and Mummy has been lazy and not done any exercises to make it go back into shape. Needless to say latest diet started that day:rotfl: .

    Well I have:-

Played hide and seek in the house
    Played hungry hippo
Started pompoms for girls - DD1 doing it now, DD2 too fiddly as she has still got her chubby baby fingers:D
DD2 painting (DD1 finished her masterpiece)
Done load of washer and put airer outside - looks like it could rain at any mo!
Made rice pudding in slow cooker
Put stuff in BM for onion & chive rolls
Made a couli (sp?) with the handfull of blackberries we picked. Girls can add this to rice pudding:confused:
Easy tea tonight mac cheese with bacon bits (forgot to take Chicken drumsticks out last night:rolleyes: )
Made the littles some popcorn to munch on
Just dashed out to bring the airer back in as it is now raining AGAIN:mad: .

Does anyone on this thread make their own yoghurt? Am thinking of doing this but via the flask way as I am too tight to fork out for the easiyog system. Looked on the fromage frais the kids have and their is loads of e-numbers and such gobbledy gook.

Right off for a look around while I have got 5 mins peace;)

I make my own yoghurt. I use a very old German yogurt maker which I was given by a friend. I do think the flask method is probably less fiddly as I have 10 glass little jars to wash every time. You just need live yoghurt as a starter and warm milk. I started making it as my DH has IBS and I was buying those yoghurt drink things and when I reduced my spending they were the first things off my shopping list. You can flavour them too. DH has one with a banana and milk mixed by a blender every day for his breakfast. I love them with fresh strawberries.

hev things sound really bad for you at the moment. I hope things start to improve. It is such a worry not knowing whether DH is going to get paid or not especially when you have small baby. I would still have the Christening and then just have close family back afterwards. We did that with DS3 because DH had serious depression and couldn't cope with social occasions. We just had us and our other children and both sets of parents and two godparents and they all brought some food. Everyone else understood that it was too much.
Beccatje I think sometimes we just have to rant. I really let go at my boys yesterday because they wouldn't get out of bed and tidy their room. DS3 then asked me if it was because I had a bad back that I was shouting. No, it was because their bedroom is in a state and they were both lying in bed at midday.
shell it sounds like you are having a lovely day. I do miss the playing games and making things with little ones. I have two little girls coming for me to look after on Friday evening while their dad goes to a meeting so I'll have to get my crafty stuff out.

rach well done for OH passing his driving test

pollybear,It's really worrying to have money taken out of your account. I hope you get it all sorted out soon. Some banks are better than others so I hope you have a helpful one. I managed to mis type my banks website last night and got one that was almost the same but the colours weren't right. Good thing I noticed . It is frightening what people get up to.

    Hi jacksmummy, JillD

    Sexymouse
I hope you get sorted with the agency. Do I remember right that you qualified as a teacher?

Sorry I am lazy Shell and got the Easiyo one :o

Well I managed to bribe my son to get him to get his friend to tell him where he was hiding the lighter. This is what started the whole thing this boy having one and wouldn't share it, my DS2 was saying it was the same colour etc each time this boy had it inc this morning so I knew he'd stashed it somewhere. Basically I said look if you can find it and bring it to me you can have a £1. Well thankfully my son isn't very loyal and much prefers money, took all of 5 minutes for the little boy to show him where he stashed it in someone elses garden, I of course followed them. Anyway that is one thing which will stop them from lighting any more fires!

I've been doing very little cleaning, I realised I had loads of veg which needed freezing or was going to be flung so I've spent the last hour and a bit peeling and blanching stuff, made some mash to freeze (always comes in handy for DS2) got a few more to do but then I realised why I was hungry, I haddn't eaten yet today, so just made myself a cheese savoury sandwich.

Taking kids to youth club in 15 minutes or so then will start on dinner and do some more stuff for freezer, get my noisey jobs like vacuuming etc done then aswell.
One day I might be more organised...........

    Afternoon everyone.

It feels like the longest day ever as Charlie was up at 6:20, and i drew the short straw and got up with him. Thought i had best as DH has for the past god knows how many days, and i don't want him thinking i'm taking the mickey. Plus, he is shattered too!

Not done a lot really, or shoud i say it doesn't feel like i have.
    • got up,
    • all washed and dressed
    • asked builder working next door to do us a quote for rebuilding our wall while he has got neighbours drive dug up, and accepted it, so will be having that done over the next few days
    • taken Charlie into school with me for GCSE results day
    • found out they are changing the staff codes for next year so my nice new £25 stamper that i bought now has the wrong code on, so quite annoyed that no-one could be bothered to tell me this. Well i will still be using my new stamp as it will cut marking time down, but it will be slightly wrong
    • saw brother getting his GCSE results, and quite pleased as he got 10 C grades. (Sounds slightly better than it is as 8 of these are from 2x GNVQs which are equivalent to 4) Unfortunately not in maths and english, but he can stay on in the 6th form and do the car mechanics course he wanted to, so as long as he is happy that is the main thing. - slightly smug as 2xCs are for Science, obviously from me teaching him last year. ;) All that extra nagging paid off
    • watched rental DVD and posted it back
    • had lunch with Charlie
    • dealt with post
    • emptied the TD
    • washed a load of my underwear
    • got out a single portion of spag bol from freezer which i am going to add some beans and chilli powder to, and make chilli con carne for tea
so, slow plodding, but plodding in the correct direction.

I had a slight twinge of feeling like i should be ironing or something when i went and put charlie in his cot, but as i am shattered i decided some much needed down time was in order, and now i have done that i am more inclined to do a bit of something.

rach big congratulations to your OH for the test. It will hopefully make life easier for you.

Will pop back in later although not when Charlie is awake as i value the laptop too much.

    Michelle, x
