    hello all

haven't had time to read through the whole thread yet. my mum has gone and the place is a mess!!! thought mums were meant to tidy up when they visit not make it messy?! think its just as we've been busy the last few days. so, my aim for today is to get tidy, cleaning can probably wait til tomorrow. i'm also technically working so it will be a bit of a juggling act! the very exciting thing is that last night we counted up the moneybox i've been putting £2 coins, 20ps and coppers into (as well as the money i get for helping at weightwatchers and i'm just £8 short of what i need for my wedding dress :D ) i need an extra £65 for shoes and £80 ish for alterations, but i think with 5 months to go its well possible!

    anyway, today:

    wipe kitchen worktops down
    dry washing away
see florist for consultation (friend prob doing flowers but want some ideas and a backup)
    return phone message
    meet one of youth group
    out for tea with work
    put dates into new diary
put wedding stuff into new boxes
    put boxes into cupboard
    practice dyeing bridesmaids shoes
    book DJ
    carphone warehouse - new phone?

    Morning everyone,

Well I never managed my 27fb last night cos my left shoulder and arm were really hurting from moving heavy tables at work on my own. Will try to do it this avo, cos doing the dutiful sister thing again, and taking my sister to Witley (sp?) again for a 2nd interview. She's going to give me money for petrol though.

One of the temp agencies called me at 8.50 this morning to ask if I could do the silver service waitressing at Fontwell, but they were meant to confirm it 2 days ago, and I'd called them twice about it and couldn't get an answer as to whether they needed me, so I told her that it was a bit short notice (I was meant to be there at 1pm today!!) and that I was meant to be going to dinner at my M&D (this is a regular Thursday thing for me) and that it would mean that I would have to tell them on the day that I wasn't coming, so I would have to say no on this occasion. Can't believe how disorganised they were. The other agency called me twice yesterday with offers of jobs for today and tomorrow and then called me back to say the client had used another agency already! I never had these problems last year, but then I think there were different staff then.

Well enough of the moaning - I'd better go and wash my hair, as I'm meant to be picking my sister up in an hour.

    Cya all later

    - tidy kitchen
    - move small-bit-y toys out of playroom before my friends and their kids get here otherwise they play woth EVERYTHING and trash the place
    - finish ironing on school labels
    - and maybe do some ironing if any time left
No point in hoas said kids will mess it up so I will do it tomorrow.

DS is going absolutely hyper today so we are off to the field for a bit of football to try and tire him out

    Hi All

Congratulations Rach's OH on passing driving test.

Not doing too badly this week although the kids are driving me nuts!

STILL doing the washing from the holiday - I can't believe how much there was and of course it's getting added to every day.

I haven't done any ironing and I think if I probably piled it all up it would touch the ceiling.

DH is on a night out again tonight so I'll probably have chance to get some more stuff done - I always seem to get more done when he's not here.

    Catch you all later

Hugs to all - especially to pollybear with the problem with the bank account. Not only is there a worry with the money, but you feel violated. Fingers crossed for you. Lil_me - I think you handled your son brilliantly, and you did exactly the right thing - I would have just panicked which would not have helped! You bring up your kids, you keep your head in a crisis and you post this thread - wow!

Receivers called in at DH's work yesterday - may not get paid at end of month.

Oh, and its his fortieth on Monday.

And I have an expensive trip to the dentist Wednesday.

And I have already cancelled the Christening because it was getting very very silly and my DH had reached the limit of his stress levels (new son Dec, Mum dying in May after month in coma, trying to manage team in impossible situation and he doesn't do big social stuff well). I am a bit fed up - I would like him Christened because I go to church/believe/read bible. I am okay with the religious bit, but the social bit had just about brought me to a breakdown! I wouldn't mind, my eight month old has probably been to church more than most of those invited!

It is going to be difficult to convince work to have me back after maternity leave (they are a really good firm but just not set up for families) and I want to earn the money.

I am not sure I can afford the Diet Coke!

It rather puts the messy house & garden in perspective.

I think the flying may well keep me sane, because if I am worrying about getting oven clean I can avoid worrying about what is going to happen next week.

TBH I am glad DH is out of his work - he came home looking 10 years younger and so much happier. Whatever happens I am sure we will cope, and it could be a godsend. It is a chance for him to really look at what he wants to do.

Anyway, SIL coming Sat - she is really nice but I want to try and get the place looking like humans live here and I also have half dozen ebay parcels to send off. I may start from Mon's list and try and work through. If DH comes home today after seeing if he is going to get paid (which I expect) he can have DS and I can get moving.

JillD - fingers crossed for you as well, btw.
    Always another chapter

    Morning all

    Busy start to the day.

    Done so far:-

    Beds aired and made
    DH packed lumch made
DH work shirt ironed (must do the rest)
    Kiddles fed
    S & S Kitchen
    Hoover through
    Washing off airer

Kitted the littles up in their rain stuff and went off to the field at the back of the park, went blackberrying but only got a handful of ripe ones, loads there though so will look again in a few weeks. Kept kids busy for couple of hours anyway, plus they got to go on the zip slide as no-one else there but to weather.

Just about to put another wash on, forecast said it would be dry this pm so fingers crossed.

    So to do:-

    Put wash on
Change our bed (put in WM)
    Wash shower curtain

Off to play board games for now, hungry hippos first. Oh and a cuppa and a jam tart!! yummy
  • So far today I have done 2 loads of washing (got 2 loads left) where does it all come from?

    Unloaded dishwasher and reloaded it

    Made beds and cleaned bathroom

Now having a rest then got to get myself motivated to do living room and then sit down and try to do a meal plan then off to Tescos to stock up...Then off to work at 6 :(

After lurking on the forum for a while I decided to join this morning to try to motivate me and so far it is working...My Dh will think he has walked into a different house when he gets home :)

So thanks everyone for all your brilliant tips...

Jacksmummy we're just here to encourage and support, the hard work unfortunately is down to you, make sure he doesn't get too traumatised thinking he's walked into somewhere else :D

Hev, hugs, sounds like you're going through it a bit to say the least, I remember when my partner left his last job before working on the taxis, he really is a different person now, not stressed at all

Well done to Rach's OH, that is great news, especially first time, what a secret to keep, well I suppose it was a great suprise.

Picking berries Shell, now that is something I was considering today, there was some of DS2s little friends wandered in here yesterday with purple hands and pockets (no idea how his Mam will get the stains out) full of them so might have to grab one and ask where they are finding them, need to get my rolling pin back off my neighbour aswell, I hate it when you lend stuff and they make no effort to bring it back!!! Oh with the park, I love going in bad weather, I just dress the kids up warm (waterproofs as DS1 dislikes rain) and take them, they love it especially DS1 who hates busy places, too many people are scared to go out when it's not sunny, poor kids end up stuck in, nothing wrong with getting a little wet!

Went to the shops in the next village and when I was there I spotted a ramp in the charity shop, for helping dogs into cars, well it fits a treat so I snapped it up, tested it and Megan can now get in the car without being lifted/helped :D what a find! She hasn't been able to come when it's just me on walks when we take the car as I can't lift her in, same with vets visits were a nightmare alone having to ask passers by to help etc, really chuffed with it :) nowhere had any fabric pens so got a CD pen to try.

Hmmm next job, more laundry, have decided to do some curtains etc while it's nice then will do some stuff in my room.
One day I might be more organised...........
