  • Hi everyone, hope you're having a good Saturday!

I have had a very productive day so far and managed to spend £7.50 under the shopping budget this morning doing the weekly shop... I went armed with a list and we have a menu planned for the week. Definitely the way to do it I think otherwise I get tempted by the offers that aren't actually offers :rotfl:

The house is clean and tidy and I have managed to list 21 items on eBay today, they're small things with 99p starts but lets see what happens.

Feeling a little more positive today and only a 3 day week at work next week as I have some annual leave booked in. That should help keep me cheery:T

Checked TCB to make sure cash back was tracking from the effective shopping the other night and it is, I've also checked my dwindling Santander card balance which is now £132.88 with another PAD of £1.60 today.

I need to reign in the big PADs for a while as it's still 3 and a bit weeks to pay day... I don't want to run out, I can always make a big PAD at the end if there's any surplus.

Off to do the ironing now... no rest for the wicked ;)

  • So, it's already Tuesday and my week finishes tomorrow afternoon whoop!

Feeling better on the work front though, perhaps there's a light at the end of the tunnel?

Ebay items are a mixed bag, a quarter of them are selling already, let's keep fingers crossed for the remainder! (And that there are more bids lol)

Relatively low spend week so far, few small PADs to the credit card but as you can see from my signature the total remaining to pay it off is getting smaller... What I would really like is for the balance to be under £100 by next pay date (27th) ... So totally doable!

    Onwards and upwards peeps!

  • I am so jealous that you're almost at the end of your working week... and pleased that you're feeling better about work in general.
And you will absolutely get that card under £100 by the 27th - no doubts.
  • Morning :)

Up early despite being on annual leave... damned body clock haha

I have 11 of my eBay items selling now, all for very small amounts but it's better than clutter in my house and nothing for them at all!

I've been making my daily PADs, some large (credit card payments due) and some small.

Checked on the pesky Santander card and it currently stands at £109.10, much better than it was a month ago... I had originally calculated when all my cards would be paid off (some waaaaay down the line in 2018) but if I can pay the Santander off when I get paid in October it will be gone 9 months early!

I know I have an annual recurring payment of £30 to go on this in October so my new-new total should be £139.10, once that's paid it's being closed, finito. I don't want to be charged 31.44% interest anymore!

Even at £139.10 it's easily achievable come pay day, and think of the daily PADs to skim off it before then (we have another 19 go so at least another £19 if there's no rounding down, which I'm sure there will be!)

I've also been very good at taking home made lunches to work this week, staying away from the canteen and snack machines. hubby thinks I've lost some weight too...:p

Current eBay is about £15 for the selling items, most to the same buyer so some combined postage calculations will be needed... I quite like trips to the post office to post items - rather sad I know!

Well, that's it for now, I'm off to walk the dogs before it rains again, they don't like the rain...

  • So, the end of another weekend and Monday morning looms... How depressing!

I've had a lovely extended weekend full of housework, cooking, gardening and watching Strictly haha, my guilty pleasure.

So, yesterday afternoon all my eBay items finished and they all sold! A grand total of £71.01 which is more than I expected for sure. I have just one buyer left to pay (they bought multiple items so I hope they follow through with the purchase) but the rest are going in the post tomorrow lunchtime.

I then saw that there's a 40 free listing offer for Halloween so I promptly took up the offer and listed 36 more items, I thought I would have to wait until next month to get more free listings so this is a real bonus.

Just hope they all sell :)

I was £18 under the weekly shop budget this week but I need a few more bits during the week as the sell by dates weren't long enough to last all week. I reckon that £7 should cover it though so I'm still winning on the grocery front.

One thing I have noticed with my new bank is that it's not as quick at listing items on my online statement so I'm second-guessing against my tracker. I suppose this will just have to be something I get used to though. The available balance always seems to have accounted for the spends so I guess I won't go overdrawn by accident.

Still PADding away and chipping at the Santander balance, can't wait to get this paid off and closed. It'll be my first milestone and I'm sure it'll spurr me onto tackle the Halifax card which is next in line!

Anyway, off to cook a roast beef Sunday dinner, have a good evening all!

  • Great news this morning, I've just checked my Santander balance and it's only £26.75 :T I'm so pleased!

By my reckoning, that gives me 12 more PADs until pay day to get this completely clear... Which means the allocated payment for October to Santander can be walloped against my next target card!!!!

    Feeling positive!

  • Hi everyone

A little weekend update from me today whilst I have 5 minutes...today is going to be a little chaotic with vet appointment, family visits and clearing the garden (if the weather holds)! I also have my eBay sales ending throughout the day so I'll also need to package up any paid for items this evening ready for posting tomorrow.

Lots of items are selling, about £50 so far which isn't bad for stuff I was storing under the spare bed and would probably never ever use...

I managed to come in under budget with the weekly shop again by £11 this time, which means bread and bits throughout this week will be covered rather than extra spends.

Through my PADding Santander card is now down to £11.40! I've now cancelled the annual recurring payment so once that balance has been paid off I will be closing this account. I have a large credit limit on this card of £9k but I'm not clued up enough to work out if it's better for my credit rating to have lots of available but unused credit or fewer cards with balances on them... Any advice? If it was better for my credit ratings I could just lock this card in the safe out of the way and forget about it.

I have bought enough food for lunches throughout this week so I'm hoping for some no spend days ahead of me.

I've been feeling skint this month and I'm really looking forward to pay day, not because I want to splurge but I hate it when my bank balance is dwindling. I realise this is because any spends I would normally have made have been going on my PADding so whilst I've not been "spending", the money is still gone :rotfl:

I also have finally received my health plan cheque from my eye test and new glasses so I popped this to the bank yesterday morning. This is a new plan via work, my old one had online claims and bank transferred payments, the new one is all by post (snail mail) and 7-days to cash cheque payments... Seems archaic these days!

Anyway, was up at 5 with the dogs again, no rest for the wicked so I'm off to sort out the laundry!

    Speak soon
    LMD x

Ps I'll pop back later and update with total eBay sales amount x

  • Sounds like happy and productive times LMD. :D That Santander card will be gone very soon. I don't know which is better for your credit rating with regards to keeping it open or not...
Good luck with the eBay stuff.
