A relatively poor day spend-wise, we popped into town as I needed to collect my new glasses and hubby needed to get some DIY stuff (he paid).
I will be able to claim my optical costs back though a health cash plan we have through work, hopefully it won't take long to be paid
I made my early morning round down PAD today and then checked my card statement to see that a £21 refund has been credited so I went back and popped a second PAD on for the day. Whoop :T
Checked my TCB account and currently have over £96 tracking, that should be great once it clears and I can PAD that off the credit card too!
Now to prepare Sunday dinner of roast beef and all the trimmings, and maybe a little splash of vino to accompany it. I love Sundays, even if they are followed by back to work Mondays!
Hope you've all had a lovely weekend

Hello all
It‘s been a while since I last updated the diary but rest assured I have not been resting on my laurels! I have been PADding away furiously every day and even in advance of my weekend away.
I’ve set up a linked saver to my new current account so I can squirrel some savings away but the piece de resistance is that I have a shiny new spreadsheet to track my card payments and interest. Now, this tracks my normal monthly payments and calculated interest and I can see just how looooong it’s going to take me to pay it off.
Here’s where the incentive comes in, starting with the highest interest rate I will focus all of my extra PADding payments to that card… my aim is to see how much sooner I can clear it than I have forecast based on my standard payments (not minimum payments as I always over-pay each month)
It’s not ground-breaking I know but it will become an obsession and by tracking it I can see just how much these banks are making from my borrowing… makes me more determined to clear it faster.
I will still need to PAD to my savings, I would like to get an emergency fund to cover 3 months wages but I think that’s a way off!
Onwards and upwards… love a good spreadsheet me!:rotfl:

Well here I am in the middle of the weekend, can't move due a day's gardening yesterday! At least it means I can't go spending haha :rotfl:
I was supposed to be going out with my sister today but the plans fell through anyway, good job as I'm immobile!
Been PADding as always, it's strange but even when I wasn't active on this site I still enjoyed a good PAD to round down the bank, it truly is addictive.
I'm following my spreadsheet plan, it's early days but I like to be able to see a light at the end of the tunnel and that far off £0.00 in the 'total debt' column calls to me daily.
I've built up a fair bit in my emergency fund and savings account, savings I squirrel away for holiday spending money (Hubby paid for the holiday so it's only fair I think).
The question is this, do I empty the EF to almost clear the Santander card? I've read others post about an emergency fund being just as important as clearing debt and in some cases these should be built before clearing debt... so confused.
Don't get me wrong, the debt I have is manageable and we don't go hungry every month. There have been much tighter times in the past! Nobody is knocking at my door for payments and I've no missed payments, it's simply the amount of interest that makes me want to clear it.
Just checked spreadsheet and the total interest over my cards (some are 0%) is just under 7% of total debt if I stick to my payments so that's actually not so bad.
Sometimes I am good at babbling on until I answer my own question!
Thanks for reading...

So the plans changed and I went for a shop with my sister after all, bought 2 tops in the sale for £11 which were a bargain and we had a spot of lunch and a catch up.
Still struggling to move without it hurting (blooming gardening pah!) but hopefully it will loosen as the afternoon goes on.
I struggled to put my socks on! :rotfl:

Monday's soon come around don't they?
A happy Monday for me as I have just posted my old mobile to Mazuma for £150:T I have an upgraded one so rather than leaving it in a drawer I'm flogging it on. As soon as the money hits it's going straight towards my credit card.
Aiming for a NSD today as I have made my lunch and I have supplies in for dinner this evening. Hubby's on after's shifts this week so I can get some cleaning and tidying done whilst watching girly telly haha!
I have, of course made my daily PAD of £200.22 to my savings account. That's my monthly savings commitment to cover a variety of things across the year and provide a bit of an emergency fund. After yesterday morning's babbling I'm happy that this regular saving payment can continue.
Hopefully this afternoon will be just as positive as this morning and I'll go home a happy Little Miss.

Hi Lincs
I'm afraid it is a spreadsheet of my very own making, based on Excel and I have a new tab for each month of the year which basically tracks my bank transactions, what's due to go out etc. It tells me what I have available based on cash in hand and surplus in the bank. I'm very sad and added a budget per day tool based on how many days left until pay day.
The card tracker is a separate tab, it has a column for each card, balance, payment and monthly interest.
I've tried budget planners from the App store for my phone but they never seem to be detailed enough for me!
Clearly my spreadsheet is full of my own financial mess... but I will have a look and see if I can make a template?
What PC access do you have? Is it Microsoft or Apple?
