Sorry that I have been away. I missed a few post. What is that £1000 challenge? I will be so much interested in how we can compound our money to hit such target.

I was reading a book called 'Rich Dad Poor Dad'. Probably alot of you might have heard about it. Seems logical. Just not sure how to apply the logic to my own finance. Asset >> Liability. WHERE TO FIND MY ASSET???:P

hi influence! i'll tell you bout the challenge if you tell me about the book, i've not heard of it ok so it was suggested that we try this challenge where you try and make £1000 from nothing! that thread tells you how you try and double your money every week, and if you can do that you'll have over £1000 in 11 weeks! but i think we've been tweaking it a bit, and considering not starting from £1 etc etc...the rules are all up in the air at the moment hehe

we were also thinking of doing a grocery challenge (but this would be different for each of us, just gotta be sensible really!) and if you have any more challenges that'd be great - we're gonna be super student moneysavers at this rate!

Hi all, I thought I would post now I've got my member number.

I have got a couple of weeks before I start back so now my son is in school full days (can't believe he is at school, where has the time went?) am going to sit and work out exactly what I've got coming in and set some budgets for outgoings. So I will be interested in the Grocery challenge, are we going to do our own or join the one that is already running?

I think the £1000 challenge seems a bit hard for me but I will read up on it.

Thanks for that link to the £1000 thread, violetviolin. I was originally joking when I mentioned selling food to people, but after seeing in that thread that someone's friend can sell home-made cakes for £3.50(!), I'm starting to think about it seriously. If I can squeeze cooking in with everything else, why not? :rotfl:

Anyone have any ideas how I could get this started, maybe, when I get back to university? Or, even better, any Bangor students out there who'd be willing to pay me to cook + freeze some ready meals for you? I have plenty of ideas beyond bolognese, and I promise it won't cost you £3.50!!
