You say the above like it is a proven fact. Make up hides a multitude of sins, and a high majority of women look better with, but also, quite a few look better without, much better without. When you see someone's natural beauty and glowing skin shining through, that can look a lot better and healthier than a face full of foundation and eyeliner half an inch thick.
    I couldn't agree more :rotfl:

I think a lot of the people who say a woman looks better without make up have probably seen women who are wearing make up, but are using it to enhance rather than wearing heavy foundation, false eye lashes etc.
When you see that "glowing skin shining through" it's probably been helped with a product.
I've seen women with heavy make up compared to them wearing minimal make up and thought "she's much prettier without" But they're still most likely wearing some

Not always. Some people are just lucky enough to have lovely healthy skin. I know what you mean though, a lot of people do that "no make up" look.

I'm not a female but i have lovely healthy skin thanks to taking hydrolysed collagen and mosturising daily. If i was a woman i'd definitely wear make up! I've even been known to coat my teeth with a thin layer of vaseline :rotfl:

To ANY woman: 'you look BETTER without make up!; (One of my all time pet hates that one. NOBODY, but NOBODY looks better without make up! NOBODY! Yes, some women look fine without it, some look good without it, but nobody looks better without it.)

I think loads of women look better without make up.

Admittedly it's probably due to what make up they wear/how they wear it caus I do agree that make up should look better, but it's meant to enhance natural beauty, not over dominate the face.

But it's very subjective. I've never thought red lipstick or heavy black eyeliner looks good, but others will think differently.

ETA: I think it's obvious, but I'm female.

    OH loves that look. Fortunately.

What not to say to a lady? What my GP said to me last time I visited him. "Do you still pay for prescriptions?" He lives in our village and I met him with his wife at Southport Flower Show a few days ago and mentioned it to his wife, lol!

(I am not yet old enough to have prescriptions free.)

And I must share something my husband once said when I had my hair cut very short because I was travelling frequently to work in Africa, sharing a house with several males. He said "I know some women have short hair, but I find it doesn't seem ladylike". The thing that made me laugh was the first bit, "I know some women have short hair", as if he'd heard so but never seen it himself. I'm not saying this comment was a game changer - I'll have been married to him for 39 years in December!

edit: currently jawline length bob, which apparently is acceptible!

    Yes, almost certainly...

    They just don't

    Agree.

You say that, but I bet you rarely see any woman without make up. I agree with what some have said on here that some women may go for the no make up look, but that they do actually have some on; a light touch of tinted moisturizer or foundation, a little mascara, a wee bit of eyeshadow, a subtle hint of lippy.

I agree also that the vast majority of women definitely look better with make up on. Not shedloads, but a delicate and subtle amount. Many look pallid, pasty, and washed out without it; it enhances the eyes, it softens the skin tone, it plumps the eyelashes, it makes the lips look nicer, and so on.

I remember this girl who used to live next to me; she was half Peruvian, and was a very pretty girl, with lovely skin and large brown eyes, and she didn't seem to wear makeup except for a bit of lippy. So I thought she looked great with no make up on.

Then I saw her once when she was off out for New Year's Eve; she had put make up on, foundation, blusher, eyeshadow, lippy, and mascara, and she looked absolutely STUNNING; like a model. One of the most stunning girls I had seen in years. So yes, she looked great without make up, but better with it.

So although I agree that some women look OK without make up, and sometimes quite nice; I do think it's hard to deny that women look better with make up on. They do.

Have to say also that I am always very suspicious of a man who tells his wife/girlfriend that she looks better without make up. The vast majority of women do look better - if not all women - so why do men say this? I know for a fact that I look better with it, and so does every woman I know, so why would a man say to his woman that she looks better without make up?

    Bit strange.
