John Lewis Tablet Issue.

Hi all.

I purchased an iPad Air 2 From John Lewis 7 months ago , and it has been repaired once due to it overheating.

Now I've had it back two day's and the screen has gone.

When I unlock the tablet the Apps/Home Screen do not open what so ever it's just blank.

I have video evidence of the issue I speak of and offered to send it to John Lewis however they have said they can't open it.

I want my money back as I'm sick to the back teeth of this High and mighty attitude which they have it's appalling.
I'm off to University in 4 day's I just need it sorted they can stick there shop quite frankly all I want is my money back to go someplace else will they do it?

I cannot even Access the setting's on the Tablet to reset the Tablet I need a tablet to help me with my University work.

So exactly what have you said to JL and what was their reply?

They've said a Senior Manager will contact me shortly.

Quite frankly I'm done with these people can I just request my money back so I can go elsewhere and get another one? , I can't keep waiting for it to be sent off and repaired.

It's already been repaired once only had it back two day's and it's gone again.

John Lewis are usually great for customer services .. I don't see how a 'John Lewis' ipad will be any worse than an Argos/Comet/Amazon one? Are you keeping your cool and being polite? Make sure to let them know your restrictions (i.e. you need a working ipad before I travel to uni)/

They won't give you your money back. That's not how customer rights work and you shouldn't expect it 7 months after purchase. They should be making their best efforts to repair (possibly replace) the product.

Personally, I'd be pushing for a replacement since this item seems to be defective. My ipad2 is 4 years old and has only had one problem (which was fixed by connecting it to a PC and resetting it)

You can request anything you like but you can't insist on a refund.

So remain calm and follow the usual process to get a suitable remedy, like you would anywhere else.

    Sorry I don't get it.

It was away for 7 day's away in the repair store I got it back two day's ago and now the screen has gone.

    This is just bizarre.

Not bizarre, just one of those things.

If it doesn't work then they need to resolve the issue, and I'm sure they will, you just need a little patience.
  • It's not bizarre. It's a bit of electronics that had a problem, was fixed, but the fix obviously involved opening it up - and now it is broken again.

As them what guarantee comes with the repair? I notice that they are supplying 3 year guarantees at JL with iPads now.. I'd be pushing to get one of those given to you if they intend on repairing it again.

All saying that; it's an expensive, premium piece of technology which shouldn't be having such repeated faults. Just wait until you talk to the senior manager though - they should have the authority to issue a replacement.
