in hsbc there is a machine, you just tip all your loose change on to the tray and it filters it all, sorts it and counts it. it goes straight into your account and you get a reciept. Im quite childish and i really enjoyed watching it sort out all my money!

Itm, i didnt notice that morrisons were doing any economy brands, i may have missed them though. Im going to try out other spermarkets over the next few weeks and see where is cheaper. I will check out the economy brands then.
Hi again Lunar,Morrisons do stock economy brands & i guess the prices are more or less as cheap as ecomomy brands of other supermarkets. We used to always use Sainsburys but find Asda quite alot cheaper, although one of the reasons we used Sainsburys was to put points on our Nector card & use all the points to save alot of money on our Xmas shop. Last year we saved around £85 which is a nice amount, but over the year it only adds up to £1.63 a week & i reckon we save around a tenner a shop by going to Asda as opposed to Sainsburys. Like i have said before we find that there's some economy foods we don't enjoy,so we don't buy them again,so it's all about trial & error. With supermarket's own brand foods though we find that there is very little difference. Also for bits & bobs we use Farmfoods,as there's a store in the shopping centre near DD's school, alot of top brands are very reasonably priced & also their own brand frozen veg,ice cream etc is very good value. I just feel sorry for our local shopkeeper across the road,he must think we have fallen out with him over the last few months as we hardly ever go in his shop anymore as his prices are alot dearer. Luckily there are plenty of other folk out there who use his shop;) !

There is a jack fultons near me so i think i will try them next week. I used to go when i was a student and always found them good value.

I live on a new housing estate so there is no local shop that i can just pop to. Its either the car or a 30 min walk each way. I think that works out better for the bank balance and for the waist line!!!

im a bit dissapointed egg messaged me back and said they couldnt change my interest rate. I think i will look into applying for a 0%credit card and see if i can shuffle things arround a bit.

Im not sure what my credit rating will be as i have been late with a couple of payments this year. Im trying to get my credit report and want to do it through pigsback but the signup page doesnt seem to be working properly!

Would it be better to wait a few months as i the late payments were in june or could i apply for new a new card now? Im stuck on this one, i could bring my dfd forward so much if i could do something with the interest rates!

managed to have a no spend day today so im really pleased. Also my e-bay items are up to £55!!! I will be adding another ten items tomorrow but they wont really be worth as much, still its a really good start to the pesky debt challenge. I wont add it until the money is in paypal though.

Im really looking forward to the end of the month to see how much i have managed to reduce my debt by, Ive been so inspired by everyone on here I just hope i can keep the momentum.

My ebay items are up to more than £60 now so im really pleased with that, I have also done my first mystery shop today. That wasnt to good for the diet but i only ate a few of the chips so i dont think it was too bad.

Im still looking at applying for a new credit card to do a balance transfer but im not sure if i should do it now or wait for my credit report to improve a bit. Im still feeling really motivated so pay off this debt. Im making a tuna pasta bake for tea which will have cost me a total of £1.56 which i dont think is too bad, especially as there will be plenty left over for dinner tomorrow.

Im so suprised at how my habits have changed, I was passing whsmiths earlier and thought about getting a magazine and a drink, then i thought it would be £3.00 less to pay off my debt this month and i couldnt bare to part with the money. before i wouldnt have thought twice about it. I know the change in attitude is down to everyone here so thanks for the support once again.

    Afternoon Lunar
:T on walking past Smiths, baby steps and all that, if you resist temptation 5 times that's £ 15 !

Brilliant ebay prices too, hope there's a bidding war and it goes through the roof for you.

It's all about need and want isn't it.

Quite fancy tuna pasta bake myself, but those that must be fed want Cottage pie, going to bulk it out with baked beans and buckets of mash though.

afternoon jo, i took your advice and had a look over on the os board. i cant believe how resoursful everyone is on there. I will definatly be paying close attention to it before i do my next food shop.

Im also hoping for a bidding war on ebay, if these ten items sell for around £100 as im hoping then i think i should be able to reach my £250 pesky debt challenge this month.

Im really looking forward to seeing my debt total at the end of the month. I thik this is the first month in 8 years where i still have money left in the bank at this point in the month. im looking forward to phoning BC on wednesday to pay off whatever is left in my account before i get paied.
