Lunar,
Why are you keeping back £100 per month? While you are in right frame of mind, put the full amount into the snowball calculator, you can increase your payments by 33%. Then you have incentive to make extra cash with shifts or selling stuff to make sure all your £300 goes off your balance. Don't forget, wages go up each year, your balance comes down and it all gets easier.

I was keeping back the £100 as i feel guilty that my OH is paying fof so much, he pays all the house bills the rent and is saving for a deposit for a house for us in a few years. He is so good with money, I only pay £150 towards our living expences plus the car (which i cant change for 2 years). I thought i would keep the £100 back and then I can pay for food and petrol. Anything I dont use I will pay off at the end of the month
My OH is so supportive, I told him about my debt when we talked about moving in together, and he was so good about it. He took the car out earlier and has put £40 petrol in for me! this will last at least a month.DFW NERD NO.656 DEBT FREE 24TH NOVEMBER 2010 TOTAL DEBT AUGUST 2007 £39000MFiT T2 NO.56 WE OWN [STRIKE]25%[/STRIKE] 31.5% OF OUR HOUSE SO FAR!0 -

Hi Lunar
Just wanted to say well done so far. I'm in a similar situation ie same amount and DFD of 2012ish.
Will follow your diary with interest.
I did a similar thing at Morrisons last week had £25 cash - no cards and spent £24.83, however didn't catch many useful BOGOFS. Best bargain was a sack of potatoes for £2.49 classed as seconds but much better quality than local farm shop, and cheaper too.
Tescos/Somerfields seems to be best value for my lot, however I always spend less shopping online. The man who removes a mountain begins by carrying away small stones. - Chinese Proverb

I will be strong!!!DFW NERD NO.656 DEBT FREE 24TH NOVEMBER 2010 TOTAL DEBT AUGUST 2007 £39000MFiT T2 NO.56 WE OWN [STRIKE]25%[/STRIKE] 31.5% OF OUR HOUSE SO FAR!0 -
Sticking to the money and food diet today, hope you fellow dieters are doing the same. I am really pleased to have payed an extra £100 off my bc today, my new aim is to get rid of it by christmas. The balance is 1880 so it will be a real challenge.
I have sent messages to all 3 cc companies requesting lower interest rates, not sure if it will work but i thought it would be worth a go.
I also found out today that I have got the agency job i applied for, i just need to wait for my CRB to come back.
Even though my snowball date is 2012, i want to get my debt free date before my 30th birthday, which is in 2010. If i can work lots of extra shifts then i should be able to achieve this. Im feeling really positive about things today, just need to avoid boots this afternoon!DFW NERD NO.656 DEBT FREE 24TH NOVEMBER 2010 TOTAL DEBT AUGUST 2007 £39000MFiT T2 NO.56 WE OWN [STRIKE]25%[/STRIKE] 31.5% OF OUR HOUSE SO FAR!0 -
