Preparing for Winter

I have brought 4 more fleeces from asda a sewn 2 of them on the backs of single duvet covers, in the summer (well i think thats over for another year) they make a nice bed cover but still warm enough when it gets a bit chilly around 4am and then when its time to get the quilts out it add's a bit of extra warmth. I have 4.5 togs for my kids and will just layer up with another quilt under the sheet, another sheet then the duvet with fleece backing.
Is it odd that i'm looking forward to winter??0 -
I have just remembered, we had a couple of burst water pipes on our street last year and on one occasion didnt have water for over 24 hours. I need to get some emergency bottled water to keep in store.0

Painted lady, do remember that having clean buckets is also a good idea - with all the rain we're having even if you do get a day's supply of drinking water you'll need non-potable water for flushing the loo... On a frugal note, flushing the loo with a bucketful of rain water is easier on the budget than being forced to clear it with Perrier!!If you see me on here - shout at me to get off and go and get something useful done!!0

How big are the asda fleeces, I tend to have throwovers on our bed to keep the worst of the cat hair and muddy paws off my white bedding. But my throws are huge and fill the washer, so I thought a fleece would be easier to wash.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0

Lol, that sounds like the voice of experience!
i was just thinking that too.
Well i have been to town - cleaned the bedroom now with sofa removed - am sporting a nice bruise on forehead where i was helling bf shift it yesterday (it got wedged int eh door way as it si quite cushioned - so i lifted a cushion adn was a bit too close to the door frame so as bf pulled the bleeding sofa i whacked me head on the doorframe! :rotfl: might knock soem sense into me lol)
now have sorted bedroom though and there is alot more space but im wondering if the junk that was in there was actually insulating us - still now i can get to the windows with ease to air the room adn when we moved the sofa there was loads of mould on the radiator so a quick dettol and scrub and it is nice and clean now
am having 5 before i clean the bathroom, loo, and kitchen nowTime to find me again0 -
