  • We got it from Comet and it was called Tefal Quick Cup.

It was the only one we could find which claimed on the box to be 'energy saving'. The staff were a bit clueless. Obviously noone had ever asked for one before us :rotfl:

It's recommended by the Energy Saving Trust it says on the box. It also filters water but we won't use that feature because we don't want the expense of buying the filters.

My DH has just looked online and it's cheaper from Amazon. It's only £48 from there, DOH!

  • On Amazon there's a review which says it doesn't make tea taste very nice as it doesn't completely boil the water and they reckon it's not hot enough.

I tend to drink coffe and always drink it straight away and it felt plenty hot enough to me, so that is just something to bear in mind!

According to my DS who is an avid coffee drinker, to make good coffee the water should be just a few degrees cooler than boiling!

I shall have a look for that kettle and see if I can buy it via Quidco or one of the other cashback or point giving sites. Thank you!

Sorry if I'm repeating anything, but I've been reading comments about moisture traps - what are they and where do you buy them? And do they work? The bedroom windows and the patio doors can be dripping in the morning so anything to help would be a bonus! (and I've noticed it's worse since lining my curtains!). Thanks!
Thank you to everyone who posts comps! :A
    I would like to be lucky,healthy & happy in 2020! :T

Oh no Pips Mum, I would have been well hacked off.

I can't get into the bath anymore as I can't get out due to painful knees. I have to shower and it's not the same, is it?

I've been tempted to get into a really lovely hot bath, have my mobile phone, at the ready beside me and then to ring for the fire brigade, when I am ready to get out.

    :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

:jOoooh that sounds a good idea, hot bath and nice looking firemen!! :j

I am 32 weeks pregnant so getting in and out of bath is getting harder and harder, OH has to come and haul me out!!:rotfl:
At least mine is only temporary, I love a bath and would really miss it. I bet the hot water would soothe your sore knees, so its a shame you cant have a bath anymore:(

    oooops me again!!
Isitenough - You can get the traps from Wilkinsons, Lakeland, £shops.
Jury pretty much out I think on whether they work well or not! On this thread some people have had success, some not so. Mrstittlemouse suggested that I need more traps to cope with moisture level so recommend you buy a couple per window.
Most people seem to have noticed moisture is worse after lining or hanging thicker curtains.
Dont think they are hazardous to children or pets Hairyhandofdartmoor. Mine are in little sealed pots, but guess you wouldnt want pets or children playing about with it............oh good grief just realised all the things I will have to make baby proof and safer in the house once baby arrives - aaaagggghhhh!!!

If you buy Doewe Egberts instant coffee the empty jars are great for jams and chutneys. They have a glass top with plastic liner so close well. Coffee is quite expensive at around £5.60 ish a jar but they are frequently 2 for 1 in Tesco or Morrisons - that's when I stock up. They also make great storage jars and look good too.
So I never need to buy Kilner or other jars.

These jars are great but as a none coffee drinker I look out for them in our local charity shops, the price varies between 20p and 75p depending on the size (+ the shop). Over the last couple of years I've bought about 40 of them and a couple of the shops keep them by for me as and when they come in but it's not really a regular supply.

I've glass painted a few as Tea/Coffee/Sugar sets and filled some of the smaller ones with bathpearls/mini soaps/bath crystals.
