Warning others you could potential get a ticket unaware you weren't at faultMacMickster wrote: »You want to continue using this "reputable" main dealer garage so don't want to damage your good relationship with them. A few still images don't give any indication of whether your car is being thrashed (in which case I would certainly complain and never use them again) or just being driven in excess of the speed limit in which case the driver at the time would be responsible for their illegal actions.
Agree the still images dont show car being thrashed I never said it was and looking at video I dont think it was although most of the journey the driver was well above speed limit even when there where streelights and houses just before garage although not a main road.MacMickster wrote: »
You are clearly someone who gets a bit obsessed about other people's driving. Having a camera in your car and wanting to show a mate some footage of some bad driving, as well as feeling the need to start this thread suggests that you would probably get far less stressed about relatively trivial things if you simply threw this camera away.
I am not obsessed with other drivers unless you say I am aware and careful of others 30+ years of carefree driving can vouch for that.
I want the camera as proof if I am involved in a accident as there are far too many idiots on road these days that can sure insurance I may not be at fault, obviously can work other way too but I am confident I wont be the cause although I am by far not a perfect driver and will never claim to be.0 -
I have amended the title should have really stated 30mph zone rather than built up area, point taken. Its still 30mph limit though although I also agree there are few 30mph signs which probably could be contested. That said as a local most people know its 30mph there.
Anyway time to move onI wont comment further mealy wanting to warn others that there vehicles could potential be misused although granted it could be rare
Are you?
You're doing 19 in a 30 now.
I'll accept it may well have a speed restriction but it's hardly a built up area.0 -
Surely every car owner knows that they would be responsible for proving that they weren't the driver at the time of a motoring offence. If the car is regularly being driven by a variety of other people then you may need some sort of record system to keep track. If, however, the car is in the hands of a garage for servicing a couple of times a year then most people could rely on their memory.
I have also had over 30 years of accident free and conviction free driving. I certainly wouldn't waste my money on one of these camera devices just in case I ever was involved in an accident. Also, I would regard any "mate" who wanted to show me video of other people's bad driving in the same light as one who wanted me to look through all of their holiday photographs - i.e. as an ex-mate."When the people fear the government there is tyranny, when the government fears the people there is liberty." - Thomas Jefferson0
