Oliver's Mount is in Scarborough, very famous and well known location.

And whether it's built up or not (hard to know for sure as the title says one thing and the text the other) is irrelevant if it really is a 30 MPH limit.

OP, why aren't you willing to complain? What if next time the garage employee runs down the cyclist of a pedestrian because the business isn't aware of what is going on so has no opportunity to stop it.

I am not doing anything at that time I am at home that's the whole point of my post. I mealy just saying if I got a ticket I wouldn't be at fault the driver at garage would. he is probably doing 19mph at that is a steep hill at that time and a bad junction coming before before another hill

I prefer a stress free life. I got camera so I have proof of any accidents didn't anticipate speeding mechanics ;)

Probably just wanted to get up to speed on the road test so he can get back to the garage and on to his next job.

That's the sort of road (being a part time race track), where they'd stick a low speed limit on and then camp behind every tree with a speeding tax van.

Plus now it's !!!!ed off a cyclist, who if your car is easily recognisable, might decide to add some racing stripes next time you park up to go shopping.

but makes me realise that if I got a ticket the onus would be on I truly to prove I didn't drive the car at time
That's your duty as registered keeper whether it's given to a friend, a mechanic, or a valet parker.

Generally having the MOT/service appointment recorded together with the time they gave you back the car when you paid and collected it (perhaps on your invoice or credit card receipt) would be enough - otherwise you could make them sign a piece of paper at each handover, which in practice would feel awkward because hardly anyone ever does it.
    I aint going to complain
I guess that depends whether you think that the way they drove the car was something you're not happy about to the extent you want to damage the friendly relationship you have with them, by bringing it up.

If they're going like the clappers down inappropriate roads, there's a risk that they bend your car or kill someone. Both might be covered by their insurance but would give you a lot of hassle and you'd be without a car. So, it's a risk you take by entrusting these guys with your car, and you may or may not be fine with that. If the alternative is they drive it to a motorway to test it at higher revs/speeds, or simply don't test it at higher speeds, you might prefer they just take it down that bike track and get it over with, for the least hassle for them and lower cost to you.

If a 60mph handling/braking test wasn't needed within the remit of what you were paying them for, and it was just some kid having fun with your car 'just because', then maybe a word with the owner of the business is in order.
I may not look like it isnt but I can assure you it is. Its a road in a built up area used a few days a year as a bike circuit
For speed limit purposes the law does describe built up area with street lighting no more than 200 yards / 183 metres apart ;or alternatively if there is no lighting but it's not derestricted, they can use repeater signs to show the lower limit. In the original photos we can see no street lighting nor speed limit signs; and so if they were doing 63mph temporarily indicated on a dashcam that could be fine in a 60 zone.
